Mechanical Systems Design Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities:• Design, review, and approve mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems in line with project requirements.• Follow up on different design stages (Concept – Schematic – Detailed Design – IFC).• Prepare and review cooling load calculations, duct design, pressure loss calculations, and selection of appropriate mechanical equipment.• Prepare and review hydraulic calculations for water supply, drainage, and fire fighting systems, and select suitable pumps and tanks.• Review and approve designs of HVAC systems, ventilation, smoke management, fire pumps, and plumbing and drainage systems.• Ensure full coordination between mechanical systems and other engineering disciplines (Electrical, Architectural, Structural, and Plumbing).• Ensure compliance with Saudi Building Code and relevant local and international standards such as SBC, ASHRAE, NFPA, IPC, and SMACNA.• Prepare tender documents, technical specifications, and BOQs for mechanical works.• Prepare technical and periodic reports on progress, challenges, and proposed solutions.• Provide engineering solutions and value engineering proposals to improve cost efficiency and operational performance without compromising quality.• Support Project Managers in technical matters and decision-making related to mechanical works.Required Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.• Minimum 8 years of experience in mechanical design engineering.• Previous experience in real estate development companies or consultancy offices is preferred.• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing works, and fire protection systems.• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM.• Proficiency in engineering tools such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP, HAP, Elite Fire, Navisworks, and Pipe Sizer.• Good knowledge of local and international codes, regulations, and standards.• Strong coordination, follow-up, and technical analysis skills.• Valid registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers.• Proficiency in spoken and written English.
