Job SummaryJoin our dynamic team at WelbeHealth in Pasadena, CA, where the Medical Assistant plays a crucial role in assisting medical staff in the safe and efficient delivery of medical services. Under the supervision of medical staff, you will perform routine administrative and clinical duties to support our mission and values.Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssist medical staff in addressing participants’ needs in the clinic. Prepare participants for appointments, including setting up exam rooms and obtaining accurate medical histories. Perform pre-exam physical tests and assist physicians during examinations as needed. Conduct general medical procedures like dressing changes and suture removal under supervision. Collect and prepare laboratory specimens and perform equipment sterilization. Triage and address unscheduled physician visit requests. Manage the on-site Specialist calendar and ensure all appointments are filled. Support Specialists with exam preparations and document procedures in Athena. Maintain clinic logs, stock exam rooms, and ensure proper sanitation. Monitor Emergency Cart and medication/vaccine refrigerator logs. Conduct quality control checks on lab equipment and maintain logs. Perform and document procedures and care, providing teaching to participants as needed. Conduct COVID testing for staff and non-staff as required. Required Skills & ExperienceMinimum of two years of Medical Assistant experience in a clinical setting with a frail or elderly population. Must be at least 18 years of age. Ability to follow directions and communicate needs effectively. Excellent clinical, organizational, and communication skills in senior care settings. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Demonstrated ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Experience working with diverse backgrounds and cultures. Commitment to unlocking the full potential of vulnerable seniors. Preferred Skills & ExperienceExperience in Home Health/Clinical settings. Bilingual in English/Spanish. Schedule NotesWork schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Candidates must have reliable transportation for clinic-facing roles.
