Apply & track with Apply EdgeMonday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pmPosition SummaryUnder general supervision of licensed personnel, the Medical Assistant (MA) is responsible for continuous, efficient, and smooth patient flow in the outpatient/ambulatory setting. Serves as the patient liaison through clinical responsibilities and plays an important role in the hospital’s clinical operations, and patient experience. The MA responds to hourly variations in patient volume, clinician, and room availability to continually maximize efficient use of space and resources in the clinic; identifies and provides necessary clinical preparation pertaining to patient care according to protocols; assists with patient care as warranted and within their scope of practice. The Medical Assistant may be present in secure medication storage areas and are allowed incidental access to medication. The Medical Assistant will be clinically supervised by a Physician or Physician Assistant.Minimum QualificationsEducation: High School Diploma / GED, or equivalent, Associates degree preferredMedical Assistant ProgramExperiencePediatric CMA experience preferredLicensure/ CertificationsCPR and Basic Life Support CertificationNCCA (National Commission for Certifying Agency) recognized Medical Certification required OR certification needs to be completed within one year of hire date. Any of the following are acceptable:Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from the American Medical Technologists NationalCertified Medical Assistant (NCMA) from the National Center for Competency TestingCertified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) from the National Health Career AssociationClinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC) from the American Medical Certification AssociationThe posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
