Students benefit from specialized coursework to prepare them for a career, as well as financial aid and job assistance for those who qualify.Role Description The Medical Assistant Instructor is responsible for teaching and mentoring students in medical assisting concepts, clinical procedures, and professional standards within SOCHi’s instructional framework. This part-time, hybrid role is based in the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area, with a combination of on-campus teaching and some work-from-home responsibilities such as lesson planning, grading, and virtual student support. Day-to-day tasks include developing and delivering lectures and demonstrations, supervising hands-on skills practice, evaluating student performance, and maintaining accurate academic records. The instructor collaborates with program leadership to align curriculum with current industry practices, supports student readiness for certification or employment, and fosters an inclusive, respectful learning environment.QualificationsStrong foundation in Medical Assisting and Medicine, with the ability to teach clinical and administrative procedures clearly and effectively.Experience with Curriculum Development, including creating lesson plans, assessments, and instructional materials aligned with program outcomes.Working knowledge of Medical Assisting Skills and the capability to integrate these subjects into medical assisting training.Previous teaching, mentoring, or clinical training experience in a healthcare or educational setting is highly beneficial.Relevant certification or licensure as a Medical Assistant or healthcare professional; associate or bachelor’s degree in a health-related field preferred.Excellent communication, classroom management, and organizational skills, with a commitment to equity, inclusion, and student success.Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, using basic computer and learning technologies for instructional and administrative tasks.
