The school emphasizes industry-relevant curricula, experienced instructors, and strong connections with employers to support student success and career placement.Role Description The Medical Assistant Substitute Instructor is a full-time, on-site role based at the Lincoln Tech campus in Indianapolis, IN. This position is responsible for delivering classroom and lab instruction to Medical Assistant students in accordance with established curricula, learning objectives, and school policies. Day-to-day tasks include preparing lesson plans, teaching clinical and administrative medical assisting skills, demonstrating procedures, and overseeing hands-on practice in a lab setting. The instructor evaluates student performance through assignments, tests, and practical assessments, provides constructive feedback, and maintains accurate records of grades and attendance. Additional responsibilities include supporting student success through mentoring, enforcing safety and compliance standards, collaborating with program leadership, and stepping in for other Medical Assistant instructors as needed.Qualifications Clinical medical assisting skills, including basic patient care, vital signs, phlebotomy, injections, EKGs, and medical office procedures.Knowledge of healthcare regulations and standards, such as HIPAA, OSHA, infection control, and professional ethics.Instructional and classroom management abilities, including lesson planning, facilitating discussions, and supervising lab activities.Strong communication, interpersonal, and mentoring skills to support diverse learners and foster an inclusive learning environment.Organizational and documentation skills for maintaining records, tracking student progress, and following institutional policies.Previous experience as a Medical Assistant, nurse, or related healthcare professional; teaching or training experience preferred.Relevant certification or licensure in Medical Assisting or a related healthcare field; associate degree or higher in a health-related discipline is beneficial.Ability to work on-site in Indianapolis, IN, maintain punctuality, and adapt to changing instructional needs as a substitute instructor.
