Medical Director - Abu Dhabi

We are currently looking to appoint an experienced Medical Director - Prehospital Care / EMS to support our expanding ambulance, emergency medical services and wider prehospital healthcare operations across Abu Dhabi.This is a key clinical leadership position within the organisation. The successful candidate will provide medical oversight, clinical governance and strategic clinical direction across our EMS and healthcare operations, helping to ensure that services are delivered safely, effectively and in accordance with Department of Health - Abu Dhabi requirements and recognised standards of prehospital care.The Medical Director will work closely with our operational, clinical, quality and HSE teams and will play an important role in areas including clinical governance, protocol and guideline development, clinical performance review, quality improvement, staff competency and credentialing, clinical risk management and the ongoing development of our prehospital services.Required qualifications and experience include:Licensed by DoH Abu Dhabi to practise Emergency Medicine or Critical CareMinimum 2 years' prehospital, emergency department or ICU experience Demonstrable experience in clinical governance and clinical oversightExperience or formal training in prehospital care service improvement and quality improvement processesExperience in the design, development or operation of out-of-hospital EMS systemsExperience or training in the medical direction of out-of-hospital emergency medical servicesStrong understanding of DoH Abu Dhabi regulations, standards and requirements applicable to the prehospital and ambulance sectorAbility to provide clinical leadership and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary operational and clinical teamsAdditional experience that would be highly advantageous includes:Previous experience in an EMS Medical Director or similar senior clinical leadership positionFormal Incident Command / Major Incident Management trainingKnowledge and experience of EMS dispatch, communications and response systemsExperience developing and reviewing clinical protocols, guidelines and pathwaysExperience in service design, mobilisation and development of EMS or prehospital healthcare servicesExperience supporting clinical audit, quality assurance and continuous improvement programmesThis is an important opportunity for an experienced Emergency Medicine or Critical Care physician who is interested in helping shape and develop a growing prehospital healthcare operation in Abu Dhabi.The role will carry responsibility for supporting the continued delivery of safe, compliant, clinically governed and high-quality patient care, while also contributing to the future development of our EMS and prehospital services.If you meet the above requirements, or know someone who may be suitable for the position, we would be pleased to hear from you.
