Medical Director – RheumatologyClinical Development | Life Sciences | Contract/Permanent (Europe)Planet Pharma is partnering with a leading pharmaceutical/biotech client to identify a Medical Director – Rheumatology to provide medical and scientific leadership across their clinical development programs.About the RoleThis is a pivotal position for a physician with deep rheumatology expertise to shape clinical strategy, provide medical oversight of trials, and act as a key scientific voice both internally and externally — engaging with investigators, regulatory bodies, and cross-functional teams to advance the development of innovative therapies.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide medical and scientific leadership for clinical development programs within rheumatology (and related immunology indications)Contribute to clinical trial design, protocol development, and study executionServe as medical monitor, ensuring patient safety and data integrity throughout trialsPartner with cross-functional teams (Clinical Operations, Biostatistics, Regulatory, Pharmacovigilance) to support program milestonesEngage with investigators, KOLs, and external stakeholders on scientific and clinical mattersSupport regulatory submissions and interactions with health authorities as neededRequirementsMD / Physician qualificationBoard certified / recognized specialist in Rheumatology (candidates with an Immunology specialization will also be considered, provided their focus is not primarily in vaccines or infectious disease)1–2 years of industry experience in clinical development (pharma, biotech, or CRO)Strong understanding of GCP and clinical trial methodologyExcellent communication skills, with the ability to translate clinical/scientific insight for cross-functional and external audiencesFluent English required; additional European languages a plusWhat's on OfferOpportunity to shape clinical strategy in a high-impact therapeutic areaCollaborative, cross-functional environment within a growing clinical development teamCompetitive compensation package, commensurate with experienceAbout Planet Pharma:Planet Pharma is an American parented Employment Business/Agency that provides global staffing services with its head-quarters in Chicago and our EMEA regional office located in Central London.
