Founded more than a century ago as a Christian ministry of healing, Baylor Scott & White now serves over three million Texans and continues to expand innovative, patient-centered care.Role Description The Medical Director Heart Failure & Transplant Cardiology is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Temple, TX. This role oversees clinical programs in advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based patient care and optimal outcomes. Daily responsibilities include providing direct patient care, supervising and mentoring physicians and advanced practice professionals, coordinating multidisciplinary care teams, and guiding program development and growth. The Medical Director collaborates with hospital and system leadership on quality improvement, clinical protocols, and resource utilization, and actively participates in teaching, research, and scholarly activities as appropriate. The role also involves fostering strong relationships with referring clinicians and supporting community and patient education related to heart failure and transplant cardiology.Qualifications Advanced clinical expertise in Medicine and Cardiology, including board certification in Cardiology and subspecialty training in heart failure and transplant cardiology.Ability to collaborate and lead multidisciplinary teams, including Working with Physicians and other clinicians across specialties.Broad understanding of related clinical areas such as Neurology and Oncology to support comprehensive, coordinated care for complex patients.Unrestricted medical license (or eligibility) in the state of Texas and completion of an accredited fellowship in cardiovascular disease.Demonstrated leadership experience in clinical program development, quality improvement, and guideline-driven care.Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to equity, safety, and patient-centered care.Interest in teaching, mentoring, and participation in clinical research or scholarly activities is highly beneficial.
