Apply & track with Apply EdgeThis role is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of scientific integrity, quality, regulatory compliance, and patient safety across laboratory services supporting clinical research and healthcare initiatives.The successful candidate will work closely with local and global stakeholders, providing medical expertise and governance while supporting the delivery of high-quality laboratory services in a regulated environment.Key ResponsibilitiesAs The Medical Director, Laboratory, You WillProvide medical leadership and oversight for laboratory operations, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulatory, accreditation, and quality standards.Serve as the designated Clinical Governance Officer for the laboratory.Direct and oversee the operation of the Singapore laboratory, including medical governance, quality oversight, and resource planning.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, review, and implement laboratory procedures and protocols supporting clinical studies.Interpret complex laboratory and clinical data, providing medical expertise to support study objectives and patient safety.Ensure laboratory practices align with industry standards, regulatory expectations, and best practices.Support quality management systems and continuous improvement initiatives.Provide medical consultation to internal and external stakeholders on laboratory-related clinical and scientific matters.Maintain relationships with regulatory authorities, accreditation bodies, sponsors, and external partners.Contribute to strategic initiatives that enhance laboratory performance, scientific capability, and operational excellence.Qualifications And ExperienceEssential RequirementsMedical Degree (MD or equivalent) with specialist qualification in Pathology.Significant experience working as a Pathologist in a clinical laboratory environment.Eligible to act as a Clinical Governance Officer in Singapore.Demonstrated experience providing medical oversight for laboratory operations, quality systems, and regulatory compliance.Strong understanding of clinical laboratory standards, accreditation requirements, and healthcare regulations.Proven ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams in a regulated healthcare or clinical research environment.Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.Preferred ExperienceExperience supporting laboratories involved in clinical trials or drug development.Experience within a Contract Research Organisation (CRO), central laboratory, hospital laboratory, or other regulated laboratory services environment.Previous laboratory leadership and people management experience.Experience working within a global or international organisation.What We OfferOpportunity to lead medical governance within a highly regulated laboratory environment.Exposure to global stakeholders and international clinical research programs.A collaborative and science-driven culture focused on quality and innovation.The opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient care, clinical research, and laboratory excellence.If you are an experienced Pathologist with strong laboratory leadership experience and eligibility to serve as a Clinical Governance Officer in Singapore, we would welcome your application.
