The Medical Officer is responsible for providing high-quality medical care topatients, diagnosing and treating illnesses, and ensuring adherence to clinical best practices. The role involves patientconsultation, health assessments, treatment planning, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to improve healthcare outcomes. Responsibilities: Emergency & Critical Care Respond promptly to medical emergencies and provide life-saving interventions. Perform minor surgical procedures and assist in major surgeries as needed. Manage critical care patients in collaboration with relevant specialists. To provide quality medical care to patients under the supervision of the HOD/Branch ClinicalDirector. Conduct day to day review of patients. Analyze records, reports, test results or examination information to diagnose medical conditionof patient. To ensure comprehensive, accurate and concise medical records are collected and maintainedfor patients with an appropriate signed and dated legible entry in the patient’s medical recordon every attendance upon a patient. Contribute to quality patient care by participation in case planning which includes appropriatepre-admission planning, in-hospital care and discharge planning. To arrange investigations, medical treatment and discharge as directed by the Registrar and/orConsultant to which assigned. Commissioning healthcare by liaising with medical professionals in the community andhospitals. Providing preventative medical programs for individual patients. Support the team in meeting targets set by the government for specific treatments, such as childimmunizations. Work alongside nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to ensurecomprehensive patient care. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior medical staff, interns, and healthcareworkers. Refer patients to specialists or higher-level care when necessary. Stay updated with advancements in medical research, treatments, and technologies. Participate in training sessions, workshops, and continuing medical education (CME)programs. Contribute to research, audits, and public health initiatives where applicable. To be “on-call” or participate in shift rosters is a requirement of the position.
