The ideal candidate has a strong background in artificial intelligence and firsthand experience working with multimodal medical data (including imaging) in a regulated environment. ContactPlease send CV and motivation letter to careers@compremium.chJob Responsibilities and Essential Duties:Designing, developing, training, and validating machine learning and AI models for medical products.Collaborating closely with the data team to ensure data quality, traceability, proper labeling, and compliance with regulatory requirements.Driving system-level AI architecture and discussing model feasibility, performance, scalability, and maintainability.Optimizing AI models for deployment on embedded or edge devices, including model compression, quantization, and acceleration techniques.Testing and verification of AI components, including performance evaluation, robustness analysis, and validation on clinical or pre-clinical datasets.Contributing to technical, algorithmic, validation and continuous improvement documentation in line with ISO 13485, IEC 62304, FDA guidance documents, the EU AI Act and other emerging AI-related and medical regulatory standards.Collaborating cross-functionally with software, clinical, and regulatory teams to define data collection strategies and align AI solutions with clinical needs and product requirements.Requirements:Master’s degree or PhD in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.2+ years of professional experience in ML/AI development, including experience in a regulated medical environment.Strong proficiency in Python and common ML/AI frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar).Working knowledge of C/C++ for model integration or inference pipelines.Experience with model export and deployment workflows (e.g. ONNX).Solid knowledge of model optimization for on-device or embedded execution.Previous experience working with multimodal medical data, including imaging (especially ultrasound) data.Fast-learning and proactive mindset.Excellent written and spoken English; German working proficiency is a plus.On-site (in Muri bei Bern) with possibility of partial remote work.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Deep understanding of modern software-development practices, including modular design, automated testing, code review, and maintainable production code.Work experience with agentic coding workflows and AI-assisted software-development tools, with appropriate human review, validation, traceability, security, and regulatory oversight.Experience with CI/CD, MLOps, and version control for software, data, and models.Ability to work independently and as part of a team, take ownership of technical deliverables, and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.Demonstrates passion and enthusiasm for the company’s vision and work.Ability to adapt to a changing, fast-paced environment.About Compremium AGCompremium is a medical diagnostics company based in Bern, Switzerland.
