Minimum Entry QualificationMBBS or equivalent qualificationFull registration with the Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC)Routine duties & Attributes required:To carry out regular ward roundsTo clerk all new admissions within a reasonable period of time but not later than two hours since admission to the unit/ wardMaintenance of error free legible patient recordsComplete all diagnosis cards neatly, accurately and completelyEducation of patients, patients' guardians regarding care after discharge and with regard to follow up treatmentHanding over of patients to the incoming MO with due diligenceTo manage all medical/surgical emergencies in ward/ unit until a higher level of care is availableTo convey clinical findings of patients under care to respective consultants clearly and effectivelyGood understanding about equipment, monitors and other items used for patient care in units/wardsTo carry out instructions issued by consultants without delay and to update them regarding all new developments & changes in patients' conditionTo participate in clinical audits according to policies and protocols issued by the managementTo ensure adherence to recommended guidelines and protocols regarding infection prevention and control activities within the unitEngagement in staff training when permissibleTo ensure that a comprehensive problem list is constructed in respect of each patient and to determine and investigate with a view to decide on a management planTo report incidents duly and effectively using the "incident record form" as specified in hospital policiesMaintenance of all Medical documents as guided by the hospital policyFollow the hospital policies and procedure for any cause of actionPerforms any other job related function delegated by the CMO, CEO-DMS, DDMS or the management
