The team is committed to providing trusted, patient-centered care in a professional and supportive environment.Role Description The Medical Receptionist is a part-time/ casual, on-site role based at Eastside Eye Care in Brisbane, QLD. This position is responsible for greeting patients, managing check-in and check-out processes, and ensuring a welcoming and efficient front desk experience. Daily tasks include answering and directing phone calls, scheduling and confirming appointments, updating patient information, and coordinating patient flow with clinical staff. The Medical Receptionist also handles general administrative duties such as processing paperwork, managing correspondence, and supporting billing and payment procedures. The role requires consistent communication with patients and team members, maintaining confidentiality, and upholding clinic policies and standards of service.Qualifications Strong receptionist and front desk skills, including Receptionist Duties and experience in a Medical Office setting.Proficiency in Appointment Scheduling and managing patient bookings and calendars.Professional Phone Etiquette and effective verbal communication skills.Familiarity with Medical Terminology and basic understanding of ophthalmology or healthcare environments.Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a busy clinic.Comfort with using practice management software and basic computer applications.Customer service orientation with a calm, respectful, and empathetic approach to patients.Ability to work collaboratively in a team and follow established procedures and privacy regulations.Previous experience in medical reception or healthcare administration is preferred.Relevant vocational training or certification in medical administration or reception is an advantage.
