Medical Transcriptionist

A leading healthcare organization is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and professional Medical Transcriptionist to join its team. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately transcribing medical reports, physician dictations, consultation notes, clinical findings, and other healthcare documentation while ensuring the highest standards of accuracy, quality, confidentiality, and compliance.This role is ideal for candidates with previous medical transcription experience and a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and healthcare documentation practices.Key ResponsibilitiesTranscribe physician dictations, medical reports, consultation notes, discharge summaries, operative reports, and diagnostic findings accurately and efficiently.Review, edit, and proofread transcribed documents to ensure accuracy, consistency, grammar, and adherence to established documentation standards.Ensure all medical documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with organizational policies and healthcare quality standards.Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information and medical records in accordance with applicable regulations and policies.Communicate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to clarify unclear or incomplete documentation when required.Manage transcription workloads effectively to meet established turnaround times and service-level expectations.Enter and update patient-related information within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and healthcare information systems.Organize, maintain, and archive medical documentation as required.Support departmental administrative and documentation activities as assigned.Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing documentation quality and operational efficiency.RequirementsDiploma or Bachelor's Degree in a healthcare-related field, Medical Transcription, Health Information Management, Allied Health Sciences, Nursing, or a related discipline.Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Medical Transcriptionist in a hospital, clinic, or healthcare setting.Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, clinical procedures, and healthcare documentation standards.Excellent English listening, typing, proofreading, and written communication skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy while working under deadlines.Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.Experience in a healthcare environment within the UAE/GCC will be an advantage.
