Company Description MIT Introduction to Technology, Engineering, and Science (MITES), formerly OEOP, offers rigorous, hands-on STEM programs for highly motivated 7th–12th grade students from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds. MITES focuses on advancing equity and access by providing transformative, community-building experiences that are free of cost to participants and their families. Through its programs, MITES helps students develop foundational STEM skills, confidence, and a strong sense of belonging in scientific and engineering fields. Participants build lasting networks of peers, mentors, and allies that affirm both their achievement motivation and cultural identity. Serving around 300 students each year, many from low socio-economic and underrepresented minority backgrounds, MITES supports future leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs in STEM.Role Description The Member role at MITES is a full-time, on-site position based in Healdsburg, CA. The Member will engage directly with students, staff, and instructors to support the delivery of STEM learning experiences and community-building activities. Daily responsibilities may include assisting with program logistics, helping coordinate workshops and events, providing academic and social support to students, and contributing to a positive, inclusive environment. The Member may also help gather feedback, maintain records, and collaborate with the team on initiatives that enhance equity, access, and student success in STEM. This role is closely involved in the day-to-day operations that ensure a high-quality, mission-driven experience for all participants.Qualifications Demonstrated passion for STEM education, equity, and access, particularly for diverse and underrepresented student populations.Experience working with middle and high school students in educational, mentoring, or community-based settings.Strong organizational and time-management skills to support program logistics and daily operations.Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate in a team-based, student-centered environment.Ability to create inclusive, respectful spaces that affirm students’ identities and encourage confidence and growth.Comfort with basic digital tools (e.g., email, spreadsheets, online collaboration platforms) to track information and coordinate activities.Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in education, STEM, social sciences, or a related field is preferred.Ability to work on-site in Healdsburg, CA, with flexibility to support occasional evening or weekend activities as needed.
