Working within a high-performance, high-talent-density environment, you'll collaborate with world-class engineers and product leaders to build innovative AI systems that directly impact users every day.The Member of Technical Staff, Machine Learning will be responsible for designing, building, and improving machine learning systems that power advanced AI workflows, model evaluation, training, and inference. This role offers the opportunity to work on production AI systems from day one, contributing to the development of reliable, scalable, and user-focused machine learning solutions.Member of Technical Staff, Machine Learning responsibilities:Build and improve machine learning components across data pipelines, training systems, evaluation frameworks, and inference servicesFine-tune and optimize machine learning models for production applicationsDevelop testing and evaluation methodologies to understand and improve model performanceDesign and maintain pipelines for both real-world and synthetic data generationInvestigate and resolve model performance issues, production incidents, and system bottlenecksCollaborate with product, engineering, and research teams to deliver reliable AI-powered featuresSupport production systems while balancing latency, reliability, scalability, cost, and safety requirementsMonitor model and system performance and drive continuous improvements based on user feedback and operational metricsContribute high-quality, maintainable code and engineering best practicesParticipate in technical discussions, architecture decisions, and iterative development cyclesThe successful candidate has:3+ years of experience in machine learning engineering, applied AI, or a related software engineering disciplineBachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related fieldStrong foundation in machine learning concepts, neural networks, and modern model architecturesExperience training, fine-tuning, deploying, or supporting machine learning models in production environmentsProficiency with Python and machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch or JAXExperience building scalable software systems and writing production-quality codeFamiliarity with data processing, model evaluation, experimentation, and debugging techniquesAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with evolving prioritiesStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsA bias toward learning, ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvementCompensation and benefits:The discussed salary range is $140,000 - $180,000, depending on experienceCandidates with additional experience and higher compensation expectations may also be consideredRemote work arrangementOpportunity to work with cutting-edge AI technologies and large-scale machine learning systemsProfessional development and career growth opportunitiesCandidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
