Apply & track with Apply EdgePosition: Membership Engagement & Events CoordinatorDept: Administration [Membership] Type: Full-Time, Exempt POSITION SUMMARYUnder the direction of the Program Director and Senior Clergy, this full-time position will play a pivotal role in meeting the needs of our Temple members. Through both relationship building efforts and the planning and implementation of diverse programs designed to meet the needs of identified micro-communities, this position will be on the front lines of membership recruitment, membership retention and relationship building. S/he will have an integral role in creating processes that support and build an ecosystem at Sinai Temple where both current members and prospective members experience Sinai as their second home- a place where they are known by name, feel connected to a micro-community of like minded people, and feel supported through life’s peaks and valleys.The individual in this position will exercise independent judgement and discretion on important items, including: the planning and implementation of opportunities for social, professional and spiritual growth for multiple groups at Sinai Temple, including, but not limited to: individuals and couples in their 20s and 30s; “Empty Nesters”- individuals with young adult children, growing families, and others. In this role, this individual will support the planning and execution of diverse Sinai Temple events. S/he will resourcefully problem-solve, be a welcoming and warm presence for our constituents and ensure a positive and meaningful experience for program participants.PRIMARY DUTIESMEMBERSHIP ENGAGEMENT- RELATIONSHIP BUILDING Collaborate and brainstorm with Senior Clergy on strategic approaches related to membership recruitment, engagement, and retention.Develop and implement an effective onboarding program, welcoming new members into the Sinai Temple community Conduct new member intake conversation and guide new members through the enrollment processInput and maintain accurate new member dues information in ExcelMeaningful data collection on new members- identify what they are looking for from a synagogue and use that information to proactively connect them with the appropriate interest groups within our communityCoordinate a New Member Mentor Program, thoughtfully pairing new members with established members to help them navigate synagogue lifeConnect new members to clergy and staff in an intentional and thoughtful mannerDevelop intentional efforts for Year #2 members · Create and implement new member orientation experiences (building tour, clergy/staff meet and greet, overview of opportunities, welcome bags, etc)· Develop micro communities and relational networks o Launch 2-4 professional affinity groups (e.g., medical, legal/finance, entertainment/real estate, education/ nonprofit, etc.).o Intentionally facilitate connections between members to foster personal growth. Share relevant information about members (pastoral, fundraising etc) to Executive Director and clergy.Attend and support Membership Committee meetings.MEMBERSHIP ENGAGEMENT THROUGH PROGRAMMING In collaboration with the Program Director, conceptualize, plan, implement and evaluate demographic specific programs to meet diverse needs and wants, supporting the relationship building.· Serve as the primary point of contact for the ATID community, with a strong understanding of and connection to the experiences, interests, and needs of members in their 20s and 30s. · Coordinate run monthly Ted(z”l) & Hedy(z”l) Orden and Family Friday Night LivesCreate, update, send weekly newsletter to the ATID community · Assist with execution of community wide events and programs (e.g., High Holy Days, Purim Carnival, Community Seder, etc.)· Plan and coordinate Micro-Community events throughout the year, each designed to engage specific member demographics or life stages (i.e. young professionals, empty nesters, etc.)Work collaboratively with Temple Communications Manager to effectively market all engagement opportunities for members, including eblasts, social media promos and moreAct as Staff Point at Sinai Temple events ensuring that programming runs smoothly from start to finishConverse comfortably with the public in an outgoing, friendly, and professional mannerADDITIONAL DUTIES· Be available to Executive Director as needed for emergent projects and assignments.· Attend High Holy Day services to assist with smooth implementation of HHD operation.· Attend and monitor at Shabbat services once a month - to be pre-arranged Attend weekly staff meetings POSITION QUALIFICATIONSCreative thinkerSelf-motivated, takes pride in his/her workAbility to complete tasks with minimal “hand-holding”Detail oriented and committed to qualityPositive attitudeGenuine interest and enthusiasm for the mission and activities of Sinai TempleExcellent oral and written communications skillsWarm, engaging personalityFlexible and energeticAdept problem-solverTeam player and have the ability to work well with little or no supervision under pressureAptitude for self-reflection to the betterment of events Capability to deal well with criticism and feedback TECHNOLOGY REQUIREMENTSProficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel and OutlookComfort with social mediaComfort with google forms, registration platforms, etc. MINIMUM EDUCATION: Bachelor's degreeSALARY & BENEFITS: Compensation commensurate with experience with generous benefits package including full health, vision, and dental coverage.
