Team members collaborate to promote emotional well-being, resilience, and long-term mental health for the clients they serve.Role Description The Mental Health Counseling Intern will provide direct client support under licensed supervision, including conducting intake interviews, assisting with assessments, and participating in individual and group counseling sessions. Day-to-day responsibilities include maintaining accurate clinical documentation, preparing session notes, and contributing to treatment planning in collaboration with supervisors. The intern will engage in case discussions, attend regular supervision meetings, and participate in staff trainings to strengthen clinical skills and ethical practice. Additional tasks may include supporting outreach activities, helping with psychoeducational materials, and coordinating appointments. This is a part-time, on-site role based in Staten Island, NY.Qualifications Currently enrolled in or recently completed a master’s program in Mental Health Counseling, Counseling Foundational knowledge of counseling theories, evidence-informed interventions, and trauma-informed, culturally responsive care.Strong interpersonal, active listening, and empathic communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and maintain professional boundaries.Ability to write clear, timely clinical documentation and follow confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.Demonstrated commitment to serving diverse populations and promoting mental health care access for all.Willingness to receive supervision, integrate feedback, and adhere to professional and ethical standards (e.g., ACA or relevant codes).Basic proficiency with office and telehealth software; organizational skills to manage multiple clients and tasks.Availability to work part-time on-site in Staten Island, NY, including evening or weekend hours$25 per session
