MEP Engineer – Facilities Management AdvisoryLocation: King Salman Energy Park (SPARK), Eastern Province, Saudi ArabiaEmployment Type: Full-timePosition SummaryKing Salman Energy Park (SPARK) is a premier industrial ecosystem supporting the region’s energy and manufacturing sectors. As part of SPARK’s commitment to operational excellence and sustainable infrastructure, the MEP Engineer plays a key role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and compliance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems across the park.This position will support the inspection, maintenance, and performance optimization of MEP systems within both building and infrastructure assets, including tenant facilities, substations, pumping stations, utility corridors, and common areas. The MEP Engineer will work closely with senior engineers, FM teams, and service providers to maintain high operational standards and system integrity.Key Responsibilities1. MEP Systems Support (Infrastructure & Building Assets)Monitor the performance and operational status of MEP systems including HVAC, water supply, drainage, fire protection, lighting, power distribution, and pumping stations.Conduct site inspections and support maintenance activities for MEP systems across both infrastructure and building facilities.Participate in the troubleshooting, fault analysis, and resolution of MEP-related technical issues.Support the review of method statements, risk assessments, and maintenance procedures submitted by contractors.Ensure building MEP systems are maintained according to required specifications, tenant guidelines, and health and safety standards.Support the technical review and commissioning of new MEP installations or refurbished systems.2. Preventive & Corrective Maintenance CoordinationAssist in implementing preventive and corrective maintenance schedules for MEP systems in coordination with O&M contractors.Conduct field verification of maintenance activities to ensure alignment with SLAs and technical standards.Maintain records of completed works, service reports, and contractor performance.Monitor spare parts usage and support timely identification of required materials.Coordinate with FM teams to minimize downtime and ensure timely resolution of urgent issues.3. Utilities Performance MonitoringAssist in tracking consumption data for utilities such as electricity, water, and chilled water across MEP systems.Identify abnormal usage trends and report potential inefficiencies or faults.Support the implementation of energy efficiency measures and corrective actions.Work with sustainability teams to improve performance through data-driven insights and technical adjustments.4. Compliance & SafetyEnsure all MEP activities are performed in compliance with local regulations, SPARK standards, and international codes (e.g., SBC, ASHRAE, NFPA, NEC, IEC).Participate in safety inspections and enforce compliance with HSE protocols during site activities.Assist with documentation and audits related to safety and regulatory compliance.5. Contractor & Vendor CoordinationLiaise with external contractors and vendors to support ongoing MEP maintenance works and service delivery.Monitor contractor performance and ensure compliance with contractual obligations, timelines, and quality expectations.Provide site-level coordination during minor works, equipment replacements, and system upgrades.6. Technical Documentation & ReportingMaintain up-to-date MEP documentation, including drawings, asset registers, test reports, and maintenance logs.Assist in preparing technical reports, condition assessments, and recommendations for system improvements.Support the integration of MEP asset data into CAFM/CMMS platforms for centralized monitoring and tracking.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related field).4–7 years of experience in MEP operations, maintenance, or technical support—preferably in industrial parks, large-scale developments, or infrastructure projects.Strong knowledge of MEP systems for both buildings and infrastructure (e.g., utility corridors, substations, pump stations).Familiarity with international and local codes and standards (SBC, ASHRAE, NFPA, NEC, IEC).Experience using CAFM/CMMS platforms for asset and work order management is preferred.Previous experience in the GCC region is an advantage.Key Skills & AttributesTechnical Proficiency: Solid understanding of MEP systems, their operation, and typical fault conditions.Problem Solving: Able to respond to system failures and maintenance issues quickly and efficiently.Attention to Detail: Strong focus on system compliance, documentation accuracy, and service quality.Teamwork: Able to collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders to support joint goals.Communication: Clear reporting and coordination with field teams, vendors, and engineering supervisors.Safety Awareness: Strong commitment to HSE and regulatory compliance during operations and inspections.Reporting LineReports To:Senior MEP EngineerCollaborates WithInternal Stakeholders:Facilities ManagementUtilities and Sustainability TeamsEngineering and ProjectsHSE and ComplianceProcurement and Vendor ManagementExternal Stakeholders:O&M contractors and service providersEngineering consultantsUtility suppliersRegulatory bodies (for inspections and compliance matters)All interested applicants can also email their CVs to careers.escl@dhowsolutions.com with a subject line of “MEP Engineer-Saudi National” mentioning their availability.
