Job Description : MEP, LV & ELV Technician Job SummaryThe MEP, LV & ELV Technician will be responsible for the testing, configuration, commissioning, and maintenance of critical building infrastructure. This role ensures the flawless integration, operation, and safety of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems—including power distribution and emergency backup—alongside Building Management Systems (BMS), Access Control Systems (ACS), and CCTV surveillance. The role will also include the design of preventative maintenance tasks and execution and supervision of these maintenance activities at multiple sites around the country.Key ResponsibilitiesMEP, Power Distribution &GenerationInstall, test, and commission MEP systems per approved construction drawings and project specifications.Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot LV Switchgear components, including Air Circuit Breakers (ACBs), Molded Case Circuit Breakers (MCCBs), busbars, and protection relays.Perform routine testing, load bank testing, and preventative maintenance on diesel generators and Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), Synchronization and Cyclic Duty Changeover Panels etc.Troubleshoot, wire, and modify electrical control panels (such as fuel control panels, starter panels, HVAC control panels, and distribution boards).Execute Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) across plumbing, electrical circuits, and mechanical units (e.g., HVAC, pumps, generators).Interpret complex schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints.Building Management Systems (BMS)Configure and commission BMS hardware and software for optimal energy efficiency, building management and climate control.Integrate MEP equipment and electrical panels into the BMS network to ensure centralized monitoring and control.Troubleshoot system communication faults, sensor calibrations, and automation sequences.Access Control Systems (ACS) &CCTV SurveillanceInstall, configure, and commission IP-based CCTV cameras, NVRs/DVRs, and video management software.Program and test Access Control panels, card readers, biometrics, and electronic door locks.Perform routine diagnostics, software updates, and hardware repairs and maintenance toensure physical security systems remain fully operational.General Duties &CommissioningConduct end-to-end testing and commissioning of all integrated systems before final project handover including generation of and keeping accurate records and build history.Maintain accurate technical logs, service reports, and as-built documentation.Respond rapidly to system breakdowns and perform emergency troubleshooting.Adhere strictly to local safety regulations, building codes, and lockout/tagout (LOTO) protocols.Design and implementation of routine preventative maintenance of Security, ACS, BMS, Primary and Standby generators etc.Qualifications & RequirementsEducation: Diploma or Industrial Training Institute (ITI) certification in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electronics Engineering.Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of hands-on experience in MEP installation, power distribution (LV panels/generators), and Low Voltage (LV) systems.Regulatory Compliance: Deep working knowledge of DEWA Regulations for Electrical Installations and/or Abu Dhabi Department of Energy (DoE/ADDC) Electricity Wiring Regulations.Certifications (Highly Preferred):OEM Certifications from major manufacturers for BMS, ACS, and CCTV platforms (e.g., Honeywell, Schneider Electric, Siemens, Bosch, Hanwha Vision, Hikvision, or similar).Valid ADQCC (Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council) certificate for electricians/technicians or a track record of passing DEWA technical exams is a major advantage.Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading electrical schematics, using diagnostic tools (multimeters, insulation testers), BMS software, and security system (ACS and CCTV surveillance) platforms. Proficiency with typical office software (MS Word, Excel, Project etc) for reporting and planning functions.Soft Skills: Strong analytical problem-solving abilities, physical dexterity, and effective teamwork.Training: The candidate will also receive training on a specialised system under development to implement configuration, setup, monitoring, fault finding and debugging functions.
