Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced MEP Quantity Surveyor with 7–10 years of experience in managing the commercial and contractual aspects of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing projects. The role involves cost estimation, procurement support, contract administration, project cost control, and preparation of variations and claims.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities for MEP works.Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, and contractual requirements.Conduct quantity take-offs for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.Prepare tender submissions, commercial proposals, and subcontractor comparison statements.Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations and support commercial negotiations.Prepare and assess interim payment applications, variations, claims, and final accounts.Monitor project costs, commitments, cash flow, and forecasts against approved budgets.Identify commercial risks, cost-saving opportunities, and potential contractual issues.Evaluate subcontractor payment applications and certify completed work.Maintain accurate records of quantities, costs, variations, correspondence, and approvals.Coordinate with engineering, procurement, planning, project, and finance teams.Attend commercial meetings with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.Support project close-out and settlement of final accounts.Qualifications and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.Minimum 7–10 years of quantity surveying experience within the MEP construction industry.Strong knowledge of MEP systems, drawings, specifications, and installation methods.Experience with both pre-contract and post-contract commercial activities.Good understanding of contract conditions, measurement standards, variations, and claims.Experience working with an established MEP contractor is preferred.GCC project experience is highly desirable.Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and quantity take-off or cost-management software.Professional membership such as RICS, AIQS, or an equivalent qualification is an advantage.Key SkillsCost estimation and budget managementQuantity take-off and BOQ preparationContract and subcontract administrationVariations, claims, and final accountsCommercial negotiationStrong numerical and analytical abilityAttention to detail and accurate reportingEffective communication and coordination skills
