Apply & track with Apply EdgePosition OverviewWe are seeking a skilled, responsible, and detail-oriented Metal Workshop Supervisor / Metal Fabrication Worker to oversee daily workshop operations and perform metal fabrication, cutting, welding, assembly, and finishing work. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on fabrication skills, good knowledge of metalworking processes, the ability to read basic technical drawings, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of product quality, workplace safety, and production efficiency.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee daily metal workshop and fabrication operations to ensure smooth and efficient workflow.Supervise workshop staff and coordinate daily work assignments, production schedules, project requirements, and completion targets.Read and understand technical drawings, fabrication drawings, measurements, specifications, and cutting lists.Measure, mark, cut, drill, bend, weld, grind, assemble, and finish metal components according to drawings and project requirements.Work with materials such as mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and other metal products as required.Operate and monitor cutting machines, welding machines, grinders, drilling machines, bending machines, saws, and other metalworking equipment.Set up and adjust fabrication machinery, tools, jigs, fixtures, and equipment according to production requirements.Perform MIG, TIG, ARC, or other suitable welding processes according to material and project specifications.Fabricate and assemble metal structures, frames, brackets, supports, gates, railings, cabinets, fixtures, and other custom metal products.Inspect raw materials and completed metalwork for dimensions, alignment, weld quality, surface defects, cracks, distortion, and overall workmanship.Carry out grinding, polishing, deburring, surface preparation, and other finishing work as required.Identify and report equipment faults, material defects, fabrication errors, project issues, and safety concerns.Perform basic cleaning, maintenance, servicing, and adjustments of workshop machinery and tools.Ensure the correct materials, dimensions, quantities, drawings, and specifications are used for each fabrication project.Maintain accurate production records, material usage records, cutting lists, job sheets, quality inspection reports, and equipment maintenance records.Monitor material usage and fabrication waste to improve production efficiency and reduce unnecessary material loss.Coordinate with customers, engineers, designers, contractors, project managers, suppliers, warehouse staff, and installation teams when required.Ensure completed metalwork is properly inspected, protected, packed, and prepared for delivery or installation.Train and guide workshop staff on fabrication techniques, machine operation, welding procedures, quality standards, and workplace safety.Ensure proper use of PPE and safe handling of welding equipment, cutting tools, machinery, gas cylinders, and metal materials.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment.Monitor production quality, fabrication accuracy, material waste, machine performance, and project completion schedules.Identify opportunities to improve fabrication methods, production efficiency, product quality, workplace safety, and waste reduction.Requirements & QualificationsPrevious experience as a Metal Workshop Supervisor, Metal Fabrication Worker, Metal Fabricator, Welder, Fabrication Technician, Workshop Supervisor, or similar role.Experience in metal fabrication, welding, engineering workshops, construction, structural steel, stainless steel works, or related industries would be an advantage.Strong hands-on experience in metal cutting, welding, drilling, grinding, bending, assembly, and finishing.Experience working with mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum, or other common metal materials.Ability to operate welding machines, cutting saws, grinders, drills, bending machines, and other metal fabrication equipment.Good knowledge of MIG, TIG, ARC, or other welding techniques would be an advantage.Ability to read and interpret basic technical drawings, fabrication drawings, measurements, dimensions, and specifications.Strong attention to detail and accuracy when measuring, cutting, welding, and assembling metal components.Good troubleshooting, problem-solving, and practical technical skills.Strong awareness of workplace safety, welding safety, fire prevention, PPE requirements, and safe metal handling procedures.Good communication, organizational, teamwork, and supervisory skills.Ability to supervise and coordinate workshop staff effectively.Physically fit and comfortable lifting, carrying, moving, and handling metal materials and fabricated products safely.Reliable, responsible, hardworking, and able to work in a fast-paced workshop environment.Good computer skills and ability to maintain production and workshop records.Relevant welding, metal fabrication, mechanical, engineering, or technical certification would be an advantage.Ability to work overtime, weekends, public holidays, or extended hours when required.Fluent English required; additional languages would be an advantage.
