We judge our performance through this lens and apply our values across our whole business.We are looking for ambitious, detail orientated, cognitively agile person to join our non-ferrous metals operations team.Metal Operators are responsible for all aspects of executing physical shipments from trade execution through to trade completion.Responsibilities include but are not limited to logistics, contract administration, settlement, and risk Mitigation covering metal shipmentsMain Functions of the role: Take responsibility on all aspects of a trade in the full life cycle of the related tradeCoordinate between internal divisions and external counterpartiesMaintain records and monitor daily changes as well as developments of the physical material as well as the dynamic market conditionsKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge on international trade and logistics is preferredFluent in English with strong PC literacy (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook)Solid analytical capabilities, including the ability to summarize complex logistical issues and detailed analysis with clarity and brevity in written or oral formAbility to be flexible and work to deadlines whilst under pressureCommunication skills and problem-solving skill are criticalSensitive on numbers and able to identify the profit/loss in full course of the shipmentAble to work in details while maintaining full picture of the shipmentEfficient and well-organized, able to take responsibility and accountability, performance drivenAble to work effectively in a team but can be trusted to be independent and not need constant supervisionTakes initiative to self-teach concepts to improve personal/professional and company efficienciesKey ResponsibilitiesGeneral Daily tasks:Written and verbal daily contact with suppliers, receivers, and service providersUnderstanding monthly tonnage requirements and coordinating the shipments with our customersMaintenance of multiple reports including Credit Exposure reports and Logistics reports and shipping listsTimely and routine updating of inhouse IT system to reflect accurate location, value and status of cargo at all timesEnsuring all pricing orders from suppliers / customers are actioned, acknowledging pricing requests and sending to the deals desk for executionPreparation, verification, and handling of all shipping documentsInvoicing while observing and maintaining payments terms (Holding Certificates, CAD, Letters of Credit, Bank Guarantee, Bank collections, Open Account etc) and following up for payment with customers.Contract Preparation:Coordinate with traders to draft commercial contractsCoordinate internally and externally to reach agreement on the contractual clausesLogistics:Logistics arrangement including bulk, container, rail, truck, vessel, warehouse etc.Screen the service provider and report incidents happenedConduct Due Diligence check on storage locationsEnsure the business/commodity/quality are in compliance with customs and local regulationsStock:Identify the stock type and arrange for stock inspection per company rulesCoordinate with warehouse to reconcile the stock position both of physical inventory and monetary valuationsOrganize stock audit if requiredManage Exposures:Ensure the payments can be only affected against contractual documentsPrepare and book the cargo invoicesMonitor the cargo exposure on day-to-day basisOther types of payments incl. T/T, DP, credit, RMB L/CManage accounts payable and receivable internally and externallyQuantity and Quality ManagementArranging for inspection, sampling, assaying, and umpires of cargoes as per contractual terms.Nominate surveyor and send out supervision appointmentsCoordinate to resolve the onsite issues on quantity and qualityHedging and Pricing:Calculate the hedging quantityEnter hedge and adjust if requiredAsk for QP optionality declarationCoordinate the pricing orders between customers and traders, draft pricing confirmations.System:Prompt and timely update on operations systemDaily monitoring of PnLsUse system reports to control the shipment flow/accurate data entry/exposures, evaluate the common issues to save operational costRaise and justify payment requestsKey Relationships:External counterparties - including suppliers, receivers, and service providersInternal: Head of operations, traders, Derivatives Desk, Finance and Accounting, TreasuryQualifications and experience: Bachelor’s degree or Equivalent.
