MI Reporting Accountant

An opportunity for a technically strong reporting accountant within a specialist life insurance business.I’m working with a leading UK life insurer looking to appoint a Financial Reporting Accountant to join its Financial Reporting team. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically capable reporting accountant to take ownership of key MI and external reporting deliverables while playing an active role in improving the wider finance function.Our client is seeking someone who enjoys going beyond the numbers — using financial and actuarial data to understand performance, identify the underlying drivers and provide meaningful insight to senior stakeholders.What will you be doing?Lead the production and commentary of the monthly MI packAnalyse financial performance and translate complex accounting and actuarial information into clear business insightSupport year-end, statutory and regulatory reportingHelp deliver the front half of the Annual ReportPlan and manage the year-end reporting timetable and key deliverablesReview reporting quality and identify opportunities to improve processes and controlsSupport change projects and ad-hoc reporting requirementsWork closely with Finance, Actuarial and wider business teamsWhat are we looking for?The ideal candidate will bring:Experience within life insurance, ideally with exposure to life and pensions accountingStrong knowledge of IFRS and Solvency IIPrevious financial reporting experienceStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsThe ability to work to tight deadlines and make sound judgement callsExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsExperience with Oracle Fusion / FCCS, SmartView and Workiva would be highly advantageousExperience preparing the front half of Annual Reports is particularly relevant
