GUTolution maintains an active public presence through events, partnerships, and media coverage, offering talent the opportunity to work at the forefront of microbiome and healthtech innovation.Role Description The Microbiome Therapeutic Scientist will work full time on-site in Hong Kong SAR, contributing to the design, development, and optimization of microbiome-based interventions for chronic disease management and healthspan extension. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and executing laboratory experiments, analyzing microbiome and related omics data, and translating scientific findings into therapeutic strategies, personalized nutrition plans, and probiotic formulations. The scientist will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in translational medicine, data science, product, and engineering to integrate microbiome insights into GUTolution’s at-home diagnostic and virtual coaching platforms. The role also involves preparing scientific documentation, contributing to regulatory and quality-related processes, and staying current with advances in microbiome, longevity, and precision health. This position is suited to individuals who thrive in a fast-paced startup environment and are motivated to bring bench-side discoveries into real-world applications.Qualifications Strong foundation in microbiology, immunology, or related life sciences, with expertise in microbiome science, host–microbe interactions, and therapeutic development.Experience with wet lab techniques relevant to microbiome research (e.g., sample preparation, culturing, DNA/RNA extraction, assay development) and GMP or quality-controlled environments is an advantage.Proficiency in next-generation sequencing workflows and bioinformatics analysis of microbiome data (e.g., 16S rRNA, metagenomics, metatranscriptomics), including use of common pipelines and statistical tools.Demonstrated ability to translate scientific findings into practical applications such as precision nutrition protocols, personalized probiotics, or digital health interventions.Comfort working with cross-disciplinary teams, including AI, data science, product, and clinical collaborators, and communicating complex scientific concepts to non-specialist stakeholders.Excellent scientific writing, documentation, and presentation skills, with
