Mid-Level Software Developer

C# | .Net | SQL | Linux | TypescriptThis role focuses on building software that interfaces with and ingests data from physical devices and external systems.!! This is not a typical web/API-only .NET role !!The OpportunityWe’re working with a UK based tech company developing advanced platforms that operate in real-world environments, integrating data from multiple hardware devices and external sources into a unified system.They’re looking for a Mid-Level .NET Engineer to drive development of the back end systems that connect to, process, and manage data from these physical systems.Purpose of the role: You’ll take ownership of designing moderately complex software applications and components, working as part of a collaborative engineering team to develop robust, scalable and maintainable solutions. You’ll apply established design patterns, standards and tools, define user and system interfaces, and balance functional and non-functional requirements when making technical decisions. The role also involves evaluating different approaches and trade-offs, contributing to design reviews and working closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions. What you'll be doing:Design and develop complex software applications and components.Support and maintain existing customer systems, contributing to the investigation, triage and resolution of software issues and bugs.Follow established source control practices, including code repository management and branching strategies.Produce clear, accurate documentation in line with standards throughout each stage of the software development life-cycle.Follow agreed coding standards, development practices and quality guidelines.Contribute to the presentation and demonstration of the team's work to customers, stakeholders and other relevant audiences where required.Qualifications / skills and experience :Strong commercial experience developing complex backend systems using .NET and C#.Strong understanding of Microsoft .NET Core and modern software development practices.Experience working with MySQL, MariaDB and other database technologies.Familiarity with containerisation technologies and messaging systems such as RabbitMQ.Experience using Azure DevOps for work management, source control, branching strategies and pull requests.Understanding of Agile development methodologies, including stand-ups, sprint planning and retrospectives.Good working knowledge of Linux environments.Strong analytical, problem-solving and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team.
