The school is located in the Georgetown neighborhood of Washington D.C. We are looking for a full-or part-time member for our Instructional Support team, primarily to work with our 6th-8th grade students in study strategies, organizational and Executive Functioning skills, and content area help, specifically in ELA and writing.The applicant should have substantial experience working with students who need academic assistance, including those with specific math, reading or writing disabilities. Students may also require academic assistance due to ADHD, difficulties with Executive Functioning, anxiety, slow processing, and/or level 1 Autism. Candidates should enjoy collaborating with colleagues and take pleasure in the company of middle school students. This position has the option of either part-time or full-time (benefits-eligible) under the umbrella of the Archdiocese of Washington. Pay commensurate with experience, starting at 55K (FT).The applicant should be someone who has strength in helping adolescent students in one or more of the following areas:Structured Literacy InterventionGrammar SkillsWriting SkillsStudy SkillsExecutive Function CoachingOther preferred credentials and experiences include, but are not limited to:Experience implementing a cumulative, systematic and explicit curriculum.Experience meeting with students individually and designing lessons targeting their specific needsProviding support with the ultimate goal of fostering academic independenceComfort in supporting students and collaborating with teachers (6th-8th grade) in the Upper SchoolExperience working with students one-on-one, as well as pushing into classrooms for small-group sessionsExperience working with a variety of learnersStrong writing and oral-articulation skills.Communication with teachers, administrators and parentsExperience understanding a student’s Neuropsychological Report, how to use that information, share it with teachers, and support their implementation of appropriate strategiesHelp teachers develop ideas for how to best differentiate their classroomsConduct informal assessments of students who are experiencing difficulty with the classroom curriculumHold a Master’s Degree in Education, Special Education or related field, or similar courseworkAll faculty and staff at Holy Trinity are expected to hold the following characteristics:Support the Catholic and Jesuit identity of the schoolEmbrace collaboration as an essential component of professional growth and values working on a team.Support for the HTS mission of being a community of learners and educators in an inclusive environment who support all students and try their best to meet each student’s educational, social and emotional needs.Find joy in working with children and families.
