Middle/Senior Artificial Intelligence Engineer

Position: AI Engineer (GenAI / Agent Development)Location: Ftown, District 9, Ho Chi Minh CityJob OverviewWe are seeking an experienced AI Engineer to develop and implement Generative AI (GenAI) applications and AI agent features. The role focuses on building LLM-powered applications, implementing prompt engineering and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), integrating AI services with external systems, and evaluating solution performance.The successful candidate will work closely with the AI Lead and Data Engineer to develop reliable, scalable, and effective AI solutions that meet business requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement Generative AI applications and AI agent features using Large Language Models (LLMs).Design, implement, and optimise prompts to improve the quality and relevance of LLM outputs.Build and maintain Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, including document preprocessing, chunking, embeddings, retrieval, and grounding.Implement vector search and retrieval mechanisms to improve the accuracy and relevance of generated responses.Develop AI agents and integrate LLM applications with external systems and services through REST APIs.Prepare and process data for retrieval and AI application workflows.Implement grounding techniques to ensure AI-generated responses are relevant to and supported by the provided context.Develop and execute tests to evaluate application functionality, response quality, and overall solution performance.Collaborate with the AI Lead and Data Engineer to design, develop, test, and improve GenAI solutions.Use Git and CI/CD pipelines to support version control, testing, and continuous integration.Identify technical issues, communicate implementation challenges, and contribute to continuous improvement of AI applications.Job Requirements5+ years of experience in software development, AI engineering, or a related technical role.Strong programming skills in Python.Experience developing LLM-powered applications and implementing Generative AI solutions.Hands-on experience with prompt engineering and prompt optimisation.Practical experience implementing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines.Understanding of embeddings, vector search, document retrieval, and grounding techniques.Experience developing AI agents and integrating AI applications with external systems.Experience working with REST APIs and integrating third-party services.Knowledge of data preprocessing and preparation for AI and retrieval workflows.Experience with testing, evaluation, and performance improvement of LLM applications.Familiarity with Git, version control, and CI/CD practices.Good technical English communication skills, with the ability to explain implementation approaches, raise technical blockers, and collaborate effectively with team members.Preferred QualificationsExperience with Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, or Azure AI Search.Familiarity with AI development frameworks such as Semantic Kernel or LangChain.Experience with Docker and cloud-based application deployment.Understanding of cloud infrastructure and deployment practices for AI applications.Benefits“FPT Care” health insurance provided by PJICO (exclusive for FPT employees).Annual Summer Vacation following company policy (starting from May each year).Salary review once per year.International, dynamic, and friendly working environment.Annual leave and working conditions in compliance with Vietnam Labor Law.Sponsorship for training programs and international certification exams.Preferential loan interest support policy for FPT Software employees.Shuttle bus service for employees.
