Apparel company looking for an experienced Designer with a strong background in the Missy market to join our team and help bring seasonal concepts from initial direction through finished, market-ready product.We’re looking for someone with a strong understanding of the Missy customer and the commercial side of the business. This person should be comfortable designing across multiple accounts and price points, translating trend direction into product that feels current, relevant, wearable, and right for the customer.This is a hands-on role. You’ll work closely with the Creative Director, Associate Designer, Patternmaker, Art Manager, Production/Costing, Sales, Overseas factories and our in-house sample room to keep development moving from concept through market.What You’ll DoDevelop collections and key items from the Creative Director’s trend and concept direction, including silhouette, fabrication, color, and print.Design specifically with the Missy customer in mind, balancing trend, fit, wearability, commercial appeal, and account needs.Design with both creativity and margin in mind, working with Production and Costing to make adjustments while protecting the integrity of the product.Work directly with the Patternmaker and sample room to communicate fit, construction, and design intent and keep samples moving on schedule.Build and contribute to complete digital tech packs and work closely with Tech Design and factory partners throughout development.Partner with the Art Manager on print, graphic, and color direction across accounts.Lead the creation of digital line sheets and buyer presentation decks for every market, making sure Sales has polished, accurate tools to present the collection and support the buying process.Keep the Creative Director and cross-functional teams informed throughout development and help maintain alignment on product, priorities, and timing.Stay current with AI and emerging creative tools, using them thoughtfully for inspiration, trend research, concept development, visualization, and design iteration.What We’re Looking For:We’re looking for a designer who is creative, commercially minded, organized, collaborative, and comfortable taking ownership.You should have:A clear understanding of the Missy customer, including fit, proportion, lifestyle, and commercial product expectationsStrong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and PhotoshopExperience creating digital flats, technical sketches, colorways, and line sheetsExperience building or contributing directly to tech packsA strong understanding of garment construction, fit, fabrication, and product developmentExperience working with Patternmakers, Tech Designers, sample rooms, Production, and factoriesA good understanding designing to target price pointsStrong communication skills and a collaborative working styleThe ability to manage multiple styles, accounts, and deadlines.Current knowledge of AI-assisted creative tools and an interest in staying up to date as the technology evolves a plus
