With five global delivery centers and over 1,900 employees, we combine the personalized approach of a boutique consultancy with the extensive capabilities of a large IT services firm.Role: Senior Mobile Software Engineer – iOS & AndroidLocation: (Canada) 100% RemoteType: 12 months+ Position SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Senior Mobile Software Engineer with a minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in mobile application development, with strong expertise across both iOS and Android platforms.The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of native mobile technologies, modern application architecture, API integration, performance optimization, security, testing, and application release processes. This role will be responsible for designing and developing high-quality mobile experiences while contributing to technical architecture, engineering standards, code quality, and mentoring other engineers.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, test, and maintain high-quality iOS and Android applications.Develop native iOS applications using Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit, and Xcode.Develop native Android applications using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Android SDK, and Android Studio.Design scalable, maintainable, and reusable mobile application architectures using patterns such as MVVM, Clean Architecture, or similar approaches.Collaborate with Product Managers, UX/UI Designers, Backend Engineers, QA Engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver end-to-end mobile features.Integrate mobile applications with RESTful APIs, GraphQL services, SDKs, and other backend systems.Implement secure authentication, authorization, data storage, and communication mechanisms within mobile applications.Optimize application performance, responsiveness, stability, battery consumption, and memory usage.Diagnose and resolve complex production issues, crashes, performance problems, and platform-specific defects.Write clean, maintainable, well-tested, and well-documented code following established engineering standards.Develop and maintain unit, integration, and UI automated tests.Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance and constructive feedback to other engineers.Contribute to mobile architecture decisions, coding standards, reusable components, and engineering best practices.Participate in technical design discussions, sprint planning, estimation, and Agile development processes.Implement and maintain mobile CI/CD pipelines and automated build, testing, and deployment processes.Monitor application health using analytics, logging, crash reporting, and application performance monitoring tools.Stay current with new iOS, Android, and mobile development technologies and recommend improvements where appropriate.Required Qualifications6+ years of professional software development experience, with significant hands-on experience developing production mobile applications.Strong professional experience developing applications for both iOS and Android.Advanced proficiency in Swift and the iOS development ecosystem.Advanced proficiency in Kotlin and the Android development ecosystem.Strong experience with SwiftUI and/or UIKit.Strong experience with Jetpack Compose and/or Android Views.Solid understanding of mobile application architecture, design patterns, object-oriented programming, and software engineering principles.Experience integrating mobile applications with REST APIs, JSON-based services, and backend systems.Strong knowledge of asynchronous programming, concurrency, networking, caching, and local data persistence.Experience with mobile security concepts including secure storage, authentication, encryption, and API security.Experience with Git and modern source-control workflows.Strong experience with automated testing and mobile debugging/profiling tools.Experience with CI/CD and automated mobile application delivery.Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, product, design, and business teams.Working at GSPANNGSPANN is a diverse, prosperous, and rewarding place to work.
