Mobile Automation Test Engineer

DXC Technology is seeking an experienced Mobile Automation Test Engineer to drive automated quality assurance across native Android and iOS applications.The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and continuously improving automated mobile testing frameworks and test suites. The role requires strong hands-on expertise in Espresso for Android and XCUITest for iOS, combined with experience in UI automation, snapshot testing, visual regression, test strategy, and mobile release quality.The ideal candidate will be a quality-focused technical professional who can work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to embed quality throughout the software development lifecycle and enable reliable, scalable, and frequent mobile releases.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain automated UI testing frameworks for native Android and iOS applications.Develop robust and scalable automated test suites using Espresso for Android and XCUITest for iOS.Establish automation best practices, standards, and test design patterns across mobile applications.Implement and maintain Snapshot Testing to validate UI consistency and detect visual regressions.Develop automated tests covering complex UI workflows, dynamic content, and critical user journeys.Validate application UI across multiple devices, screen sizes, resolutions, and operating system versions.Identify, troubleshoot, and report visual regressions, UI inconsistencies, rendering issues, and functional defects.Improve test automation reliability, maintainability, execution speed, and coverage.Define appropriate test strategies and automation approaches based on application requirements and risk.Review product requirements and technical specifications early in the development lifecycle to identify test scenarios and quality risks.Apply shift-left testing principles by integrating quality activities into design and development processes.Establish and maintain release quality gates, automation criteria, and quality metrics.Monitor test results, analyze failures, identify root causes, and work with development teams to resolve issues.Support mobile application release processes and ensure appropriate quality validation before production releases.Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, business analysts, and DevOps teams to embed quality throughout the SDLC.Mentor other QA engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of mobile testing practices.Required QualificationsStrong hands-on experience with Espresso for Android UI automation.Strong hands-on experience with XCUITest for iOS UI automation.Proven experience building, maintaining, and enhancing automated mobile UI test frameworks.Strong experience developing robust, scalable, and maintainable automated test suites.Strong understanding of test automation best practices and test design patterns.Hands-on experience implementing and maintaining Snapshot Testing.Experience validating UI consistency across different mobile devices, screen sizes, resolutions, and OS versions.Strong ability to identify and troubleshoot visual regressions, UI inconsistencies, and rendering issues.Experience testing dynamic UI content and complex visual workflows.Strong understanding of testability principles and shift-left testing practices.Experience defining and implementing release quality gates and quality metrics.Strong knowledge of the mobile application lifecycle, testing lifecycle, and mobile release processes.Experience reviewing requirements and identifying test scenarios, risks, and acceptance criteria early in the development lifecycle.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate complex automation and application issues.Preferred QualificationsExperience testing applications across both Android and iOS platforms.Experience integrating mobile automation frameworks into CI/CD pipelines.Experience with automated regression testing and continuous testing practices.Experience with visual regression testing and screenshot comparison techniques.Experience working with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.Experience with test reporting, quality dashboards, and automation metrics.Experience working with device farms or cloud-based mobile testing platforms.Experience collaborating with development teams to improve application testability and automation readiness.Programming or scripting
