As we build our modern digital banking platform from the ground up, we are looking for an experienced Mobile Development Lead (Android) to drive the technical evolution of our Android platform, mentor our engineering team, and shape our core architecture. The Role:This is a hands-on engineering leadership role that combines advanced Android development with architectural ownership, technical decision-making, and team mentorship. You won't just manage from afar—you will stay actively involved in writing code for critical features while setting mobile standards and driving alignment across both Android and iOS platforms. Working alongside cross-functional teams in Product, Design, Backend, and Security, you will ensure our mobile applications are scalable, highly secure, and built to the highest engineering standards. Main Responsibilities:Technical & Architectural Leadership: Define and evolve our Android architecture, engineering standards, reusable components, and technical guidelines.Hands-on Core Execution: Lead the hands-on development of complex, business-critical banking functionality using Kotlin and modern Android SDK development practices.Cross-Platform Alignment: Collaborate closely with iOS engineers to align architecture, API contracts, security mechanisms, and feature behavior across both platforms.Mentorship & Quality: Guide Android engineers through code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical problem-solving while driving unit, integration, and UI testing practices.Security & Integrations: Implement robust mobile security (biometrics, secure storage, encryption, device/app integrity) and design reliable backend integrations via RESTful APIs and WebSockets.Release & Performance: Oversee mobile CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, application signing, and Google Play releases while optimizing startup times, stability, and application performance.Who You Are:The Technical Anchor: You have a deep mastery of Kotlin, the Android SDK, modern architecture, dependency injection, and state management, backed by solid leadership experience.The Bridge Builder: You appreciate iOS architecture principles and can effectively bridge the technical gap between Android and iOS engineering teams.The Security Champion: You understand the stringent security, encryption, and data-protection requirements of financial and transaction-heavy applications.The Mentor & Pragmatist: You enjoy guiding engineers, reducing technical debt, and translating complex product ideas into sound, testable solutions.Requirements:6+ years of professional software engineering experience, with strong hands-on experience in Android application development.Proven track record in a Tech Lead, Lead Developer, or Senior Engineer role delivering production-grade Android applications.Advanced knowledge of Kotlin, Android SDK, application lifecycle, networking, persistence, and performance optimization.Strong background in Android security, REST APIs, WebSockets, testing automation, and CI/CD/Google Play release pipelines.Excellent command of English (written and spoken).Must have the legal right to work in the EU (candidates from CIS countries may be considered under a contractor model).Nice to Have:Practical understanding of iOS architecture and hands-on Swift development experience.Experience with Android Keystore, Play Integrity API, passkeys/FIDO2, or mobile observability tools.Experience in FinTech, banking, payments, or regulated financial environments.What We Offer:Significant Autonomy: Full technical ownership to shape our Android platform architecture and engineering culture.Impactful Technical Challenges: Lead development on payments, security, authentication, and real-time financial systems.100% Remote Flexibility: Work from anywhere within the EU in a fast-paced, friendly, and engineering-driven environment.Join the Banank family!Send us your resume (in English), and let's shape the future of fintech together! 🍌💳
