Mobile Engineer

Our client is building the next generation of its field technology and building-intelligence platform. Our Product Development organization operates as a collaborative team combining internal engineering resources with specialized external development capabilities. They are not looking for someone to simply work through a queue of development tickets. They want an engineer who is interested in understanding the product, contributing ideas, and growing with the platform.About the RoleWe are looking for a Mobile Engineer to join the internal Product Development team and help build and evolve the mobile experience used by field technicians to capture equipment data, perform diagnostics, document service activity, and interact with the broader platform. You’ll work closely with our technical and product leadership as well as full-stack, data, AI, and external development resources.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, test, and maintain DigiMEP's mobile applications.Build intuitive mobile workflows for technicians working in real-world field environments.Develop new application features and enhance existing functionality.Work closely with technical and product leadership to translate product requirements into working software.Integrate mobile applications with backend APIs, authentication, cloud services, databases, image capture/upload, and reporting systems.Help evolve existing mobile capabilities toward a modern, scalable architecture.Troubleshoot application issues and participate in root-cause analysis and resolution.Improve application performance, reliability, usability, and maintainability.Participate in code reviews, testing, documentation, and deployment processes.Collaborate with full-stack engineers, data/AI resources, and external development partners.Contribute ideas and technical perspective during product and roadmap discussions.Use modern development and AI-assisted engineering tools to improve development speed, testing, documentation, and software quality.Help build documentation and shared technical knowledge so the platform can scale beyond any single individual.QualificationsApproximately 2–5 years of relevant software development experience.Hands-on experience developing mobile applications used in a production environment.React Native or another modern cross-platform mobile framework is preferred.API-driven applications and mobile/backend integration.Authentication, mobile application state, data synchronization, and image/file handling.Git-based source controlCloud-hosted applications; GCP experience is preferred, though AWS or Azure experience is applicable.Understanding of software testing, debugging, and deployment practices.Ability to navigate an existing codebase and learn unfamiliar technologies.Required SkillsTakes ownership of their work and follows through on commitments.Ability to work independently and find immediate solutions on daily issuesStrong Team Player - must be willing to cooperate with other team membersAbility to take instructionValues simple, maintainable solutions over unnecessary complexity.AdaptableDesire to have increasing responsibilities as the department growsPreferred SkillsExperience with cloud-hosted applications; GCP experience is preferred, though AWS or Azure experience is applicable.Equal Opportunity StatementOur client is committed to diversity and inclusivity in the workplace.
