Location: Southern England - Mobile RoleSalary: £47,840 basic salaryOTE / Earnings: Up to £60,000 including overtimeHours: Monday to Friday, 07:00-15:30, with occasional SaturdaysOvertime: Paid at time and a halfJob Type: Full-time, PermanentAn excellent opportunity has become available for an experienced Plant Technician / Plant Mechanic to join a well-established plant and machinery business in a mobile field-based position covering Southern England.With a £47,840 basic salary, realistic earnings up to £60,000 and overtime paid at 1.5x, this role would suit a qualified Plant Technician who enjoys working independently, travelling to customer sites and carrying out high-quality repairs, servicing and maintenance on a varied range of plant machinery.The RoleAs a Mobile Plant Technician, you will be responsible for keeping customer machinery maintained, reliable and compliant, helping to maximise equipment uptime.Working from a fully mobile environment, you will diagnose faults, complete repairs and preventative maintenance, carry out inspections and support customers across your allocated territory.Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out major and minor repairs to plant machinery and equipment.Complete planned servicing and preventative maintenance.Diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.Attend customer sites to carry out mobile repairs and maintenance.Complete PDI inspections and prepare machinery and attachments for use.Identify worn, damaged or faulty components and recommend appropriate repairs.Work alongside technical and workshop teams to diagnose more complex faults.Maintain accurate service, maintenance and repair records.Complete job cards, warranty documentation and associated paperwork accurately.Maintain appropriate parts, tools and equipment within the service vehicle.Keep the mobile working environment clean, organised and safe.Liaise professionally with customers and internal departments.Support less experienced technicians and trainees where required.Ensure all work is completed to high standards of quality, compliance and health and safety.You will ideally have:Level 3 qualification in Plant Maintenance, Plant Engineering or Plant Machinery Repair, such as NVQ, City & Guilds, IMI or equivalent.Previous experience working as a Plant Technician, Plant Mechanic, Field Service Engineer, Mobile Plant Engineer or Heavy Plant Technician.Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.Experience repairing and maintaining construction, agricultural or heavy plant machinery.Knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical and electrical systems.Ability to work independently in a mobile field-service environment.Good communication and customer service skills.Strong attention to safety and compliance.A full UK driving licence suitable for the vehicles and machinery required within the role.Flexibility regarding travel and working hours when necessary.Experience working with excavators, loaders, telehandlers, construction equipment or similar heavy plant machinery would be particularly relevant.What's on Offer?£47,840 basic salaryOTE up to £60,000Overtime paid at time and a halfSaturdays paid at overtime ratesMonday-to-Friday core working weekBirthday day off20 days' annual leave plus Bank HolidaysWorkplace pensionDeath in service benefitBranded uniformManufacturer and technical trainingOngoing professional developmentAnnual appraisalsCareer progression opportunitiesInternal mentoring programmeEmployee wellbeing supportEmployee Assistance ProgrammeAccess to online GP and additional wellbeing servicesEnhanced maternity and paternity policiesLong-service recognitionIncreased annual leave following qualifying serviceEmployee reward and recognition programmesThis is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mobile Plant Technician or Plant Mechanic looking for strong earning potential, regular overtime and the opportunity to develop their technical career within an established automotive and plant engineering business.Successful applicants will be required to complete the employer's standard pre-employment checks, which may include a DBS check.ApplyTo apply, please click apply or send your CV to jobs@isqrecruitment.co.uk.
