Administrative reporting to the Chief Executive Officer. If you thrive in a fast-paced, team-driven environment where curiosity, trust, and impact matter, you'll fit right in.About The roleThe MLRO is the statutory appointment required under Federal Decree-Law No. 10 of 2025 and Cabinet Resolution No. 134 of 2025, responsible for the effectiveness of the Company's anti-money laundering, counter-terrorist financing and counter-proliferation financing programme and for the Company's relationship with the UAE FIU and the Executive Office for Control and Non-Proliferation (EOCN) on financial crime matters.Key ResponsibilitiesOwn, implement and continuously improve the AML/CFT/CPF programme, policies and procedures across all licensed activities, ensuring compliance with Federal Decree-Law No. 10 of 2025, Cabinet Resolution No. 134 of 2025, Cabinet Decision No. 74 of 2020, the CBUAE AML/CFT Guidance for Licensed Financial Institutions and the CBUAE Stored Value Facilities Regulation.Act as the Company's principal point of contact with the CBUAE, the UAE FIU and the EOCN on all financial crime matters, including during the licensing process, regulatory information requests and examinations.Finalise, maintain and present to the Board the enterprise-wide ML/TF/PF risk assessment, refreshing it at least annually and on material change to products, corridors or regulation.Receive, investigate and decide internal suspicious activity escalations, and prepare, approve and file suspicious transaction reports through the goAML platform, ensuring tipping-off controls are observed.Operate the targeted financial sanctions framework, including screening against the UN Consolidated List and the UAE Local Terrorist List, search-and-freeze actions and reporting through the EOCN Integrated Enquiries Management System (IEMS).Sign off the pre-launch validation and user acceptance testing of the sanctions screening and transaction monitoring systems, and own ongoing tuning, list governance and alert quality.Own the customer due diligence and enhanced due diligence framework, including approval of higher-risk customers and business relationships, beneficial ownership standards and periodic review cycles.Design and operationalise cross-border financial crime controls in readiness for the Company's planned remittance authorisation, including wire transfer information requirements, corridor risk assessment and due diligence on payout and settlement counterparties.Deliver the staff AML/CFT/CPF training programme, including role-specific and Board-level training, and report programme effectiveness to the Compliance and AML/CFT Committee and the Board.Manage and develop the financial crime compliance team as the Company scales, and support independent testing and internal audit reviews of the programme through to remediation.Coordinate with the Group compliance function, through the Director of Compliance, EMEA, on group financial crime standards, cross-entity risk matters and group-level reporting.What we are looking forA minimum of 5 years' experience in financial crime compliance within banking, payments, stored value, exchange house or remittance businesses, including at least 3 years as an MLRO or deputy MLRO.Prior experience in a CBUAE-regulated institution strongly preferred; candidates with equivalent experience under another leading regulator and demonstrable knowledge of the UAE framework will be considered.Working command of the UAE financial crime framework: Federal Decree-Law No. 10 of 2025, Cabinet Resolution No. 134 of 2025, Cabinet Decision No. 74 of 2020, the CBUAE AML/CFT Guidance for Licensed Financial Institutions, the Stored Value Facilities Regulation and the Retail Payment Services and Card Schemes Regulation.Hands-on experience with goAML filing and EOCN/IEMS processes.Experience with cross-border remittance corridors and correspondent or payout-partner due diligence; familiarity with African corridors is a strong advantage.Experience standing up or materially uplifting a financial crime programme in a new or fast-growing regulated entity is a strong advantage.Professional certification such as CAMS, ICA Diploma or equivalent.A relevant university degree.
