School DescriptionEDU Early Years School Phnom Penh is a new early childhood education institution preparing to open soon in Toul Kork, Phnom Penh. The school will provide a nurturing, engaging, and child-centered learning environment, with an emphasis on Montessori and early years methodologies.As a new school, EDU Early Years School is being built with a strong focus on creating a high-quality educational environment from the ground up. The school aims to foster holistic development across social, emotional, cognitive, and physical areas while working closely with families and the local community to support each child's individual learning journey.Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for Montessori or Early Years School Teaching Assistants based in Tuol Kouk, Phnom Penh. The teaching assistant will support classroom teachers in planning and delivering age-appropriate learning activities, helping children with daily routines, and maintaining a calm, organized learning environment. Daily responsibilities include guiding children in small groups, assisting with hands-on learning materials, supervising playtime and outdoor activities, and supporting language, early literacy, and basic mathematics learning. The role also involves observing children’s progress, providing gentle behavior guidance, preparing classroom resources, and ensuring safety and hygiene standards are consistently met. Teaching assistants are expected to collaborate with colleagues, participate in staff meetings and training, and communicate respectfully with children, families, and team members.QualificationsCandidates should possess strong Assistant Teaching skills and experience supporting classroom instruction in early years or Montessori environments.Candidates should possess effective Communication skills, including clear spoken and written Khmer and English and the ability to interact positively with children, families, and colleagues.Candidates should possess foundational Education knowledge, ideally with training or coursework in early childhood education or Montessori/early years methodologies.Candidates should possess basic Mathematics skills to support early numeracy activities and everyday classroom tasks.Candidates should possess proven experience Working With Children in a caring, patient, and inclusive manner, respecting diverse backgrounds and abilities.Additional beneficial qualifications include a relevant diploma or degree in education or a related field, Montessori or early childhood certification, first aid training, and the ability to collaborate in a multicultural team.
