New American Funding operates under NMLS #6606 and maintains strict compliance with state licensing and regulatory requirements.Role Description The Mortgage Loan Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in Austin, TX. This position is responsible for originating residential mortgage loans, guiding clients through the application process, and providing clear, timely communication from initial contact through closing. Daily activities include assessing borrower needs, explaining loan products and terms, collecting and reviewing documentation, and coordinating with underwriting, processing, and closing teams to move loans efficiently through the pipeline. The Mortgage Loan Officer will build and maintain referral relationships, follow up on leads, and ensure all interactions reflect New American Funding’s commitment to client service and regulatory compliance. The role also involves monitoring market and product changes, maintaining accurate records, and meeting production and quality goals.Qualifications Experience in Loan Officer roles with a strong track record of residential loan origination and pipeline management.Knowledge of the Mortgage Industry, including market trends, regulatory requirements, and lending practices.Hands-on experience in Mortgage Lending processes, from application through closing, including documentation and compliance.Familiarity with Underwriting standards and the ability to prepare complete, accurate files that meet credit and risk guidelines.Demonstrated Customer Service skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and build long-term client relationships.Strong sales, relationship-building, and networking abilities, with comfort working toward production goals.Proficiency with loan origination systems and common office software; strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Relevant state licensing as a Mortgage Loan Officer and NMLS registration, or eligibility to obtain these credentials promptly.High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or degree in business, finance, or a related field is beneficial.
