Job Title: Motion Performance Specialist (1 Position)About the JobWe are seeking a highly skilled and performance-focused Motion Performance Specialist to develop, capture, refine, and implement human movement and expressive performance for digital characters, AI characters, digital humans, avatars, and virtual identities.The successful candidate will translate human physicality, gesture, emotion, rhythm, and behavioral intention into convincing digital performances. This is a hands-on interdisciplinary role working closely with performers, directors, motion capture specialists, animators, character artists, technical artists, AI specialists, and virtual production teams.The role combines expertise in human movement and performance with practical knowledge of motion capture, animation, real-time character systems, and emerging AI-driven performance technologies.ResponsibilitiesDevelop movement and performance concepts for digital characters, AI characters, digital humans, avatars, and virtual performers.Analyze human movement, body mechanics, gesture, posture, rhythm, facial expression, and physical behavior to create believable digital performances.Translate character personality, emotional state, narrative context, and behavioral intentions into specific physical and expressive movement.Prepare and conduct performance rehearsals for motion capture and virtual production sessions.Work directly with actors and performers to develop authentic and character-specific movement performances.Plan and execute full-body, hand, finger, facial, and other performance-capture requirements.Collaborate with motion capture teams to ensure high-quality recording of physical and expressive performance.Monitor captured performances and identify issues involving tracking, occlusion, timing, body mechanics, facial expression, or performance clarity.Work with animators and technical artists to refine, clean, edit, retarget, and enhance captured movement data.Develop distinctive movement languages and physical identities for individual digital characters.Create movement libraries and performance references for recurring characters and reusable digital assets.Support the development of AI characters and digital humans by defining behavioral and physical performance patterns.Collaborate with AI and technical teams to explore how motion data can contribute to AI-driven character behavior and interaction.Work with Unreal Engine, Unity, or comparable real-time platforms to evaluate character movement and performance in digital environments.Coordinate performance with virtual cameras, environments, cinematography, lighting, and real-time production systems.Participate in facial performance, voice-performance, and multimodal character development when required.Experiment with AI-assisted animation, procedural movement, real-time animation, markerless capture, and emerging performance technologies.Evaluate digital character performances for physical realism, emotional authenticity, consistency, and narrative relevance.Document movement systems, performance references, capture requirements, and character-specific performance standards.Collaborate with directors, writers, narrative designers, and character teams to ensure movement supports the overall character identity and story.Contribute to the development of original performance methodologies for next-generation digital humans and interactive AI characters.QualificationsMinimum BA/MA in Performing Arts, Theatre, Dance, Acting, Animation, Film, Motion Design, Digital Media, Game Development, Virtual Production, or a related field; equivalent professional experience will also be considered.At least 3–5 years of professional experience in performance, motion capture, animation, virtual production, digital characters, games, film, or a related field.Strong understanding of human movement, body mechanics, acting, gesture, posture, physical storytelling, and emotional expression.Demonstrable experience working with actors, performers, dancers, motion capture performers, or digital character teams.Practical experience with motion capture or performance capture workflows.Understanding of full-body, facial, hand, and finger performance capture technologies.Ability to translate psychological, emotional, and narrative character concepts into physical performance.Experience developing distinctive movement styles and physical identities for characters.Familiarity with animation, retargeting, motion editing, rigging, and performance cleanup workflows.Working knowledge of Unreal Engine, Unity, Maya, Blender, MotionBuilder, or comparable tools.Understanding of real-time character systems, virtual production, digital humans, or AI-powered characters.Ability to collaborate effectively with animators, technical artists, directors, AI specialists, developers, and other creative professionals.Strong observation, improvisation, experimentation, and problem-solving skills.Ability to evaluate performance from both artistic and technical perspectives.Experience working with emerging technologies such as markerless motion capture, AI-assisted animation, procedural animation, or real-time performance systems is an asset.Strong communication and teamwork skills.Fluency in English;
