Job PurposeEnsure efficient and safe operation of marine engines and auxiliary machinery onboard vessels within the UAE fleet.About the Maritime ClusterAD Ports Group’s Maritime & Shipping Cluster is led by Noatum Maritime, a globally connected agile entity operating across multiple countries. With a fleet of over 250 vessels and decades of expertise, Noatum Maritime offers a diverse portfolio of services delivering “everything you need on the seas.”Responsibilities • Operate and maintain the main propulsion engines and machinery on board the vessels.• Perform routine inspections and plan preventive maintenance on marine engines and auxiliary machinery.• Troubleshoot and rectify engine and machinery breakdowns promptly to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the vessel.• Maintain engine and machinery logbooks accurately reflecting maintenance activities and engine performance.• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards.• Assist in the mooring and unmooring of vessels, bunkering operations and loading and discharging of cargo.• Maintain cleanliness of the engine room and machinery spaces.• Support the Chief Engineer in tracking engine room inventory and equipment repair.• Identify opportunities for engine room efficiency improvements.Qualifications• Preparatory School• Valid STCW (Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers)• Excellent English. Arabic is an added advantage• A minimum of 4 years of experience in a similar roleRequired Skills• Experience as a Motorman in the maritime industry.• Strong understanding of marine engineering principles.• Hands-on experience in engine maintenance and repair.• Cultural sensitivity and adaptability.• Able to design and deliver different training programs, as well as to act as a coach and mentor to employees.• Problem solving and attention to details.
