Motorsport Development Director

The Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation (SAMF) is the governing body for motorsport in Saudi Arabia. We establish regulations and safety standards, promote participation, and work with competitors and stakeholders to support the development of motorsport across the Kingdom.The Motorsport Development Director leads SAMF's Motorsport Development department, building the Kingdom's motorsport talent pathway from grassroots discovery to professional excellence. The role owns the racing academy and the driver/discipline development programs that grow participation and produce nationally and internationally competitive athletes.

Key Responsibilities

Own and evolve the talent-pathway strategy from grassroots discovery and karting through junior development to elite progression.Direct the SAMF racing academy, overseeing curriculum design, coaching standards, athlete selection, and athlete support.Lead the development and expansion of motorsport disciplines and participation across regions and demographics.Direct the planning of grassroots and development infrastructure, including programs, facility access, and equipment provision.Operate national driver/rider development and scholarship programs geared toward international competition.Set athlete-selection and progression criteria and own the development-program portfolio.Escalate national-team selection, international-program commitments, and major development-infrastructure investment decisions to the Chief Sporting & Technical Officer.Track and report department performance against KPIs active participants, academy graduates progressing, new disciplines/regions, and participation growth.Qualifications and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Sports Science, Sports Management, Coaching, or a related field; a relevant coaching or pathway-development certification (FIA/FIM or equivalent) is an advantage.Minimum 8–10 years of experience in athlete/talent development, sports-academy management, or motorsport coaching, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.Proven experience designing and operating grassroots-to-elite talent pathways or academy programs, ideally within motorsport or a comparable performance sport.Strong understanding of FIA/FIM development frameworks, driver/rider progression standards, and international competition pathways.Demonstrated ability to manage scholarship or development programs, including athlete selection, funding, and progression tracking.Excellent program-management and stakeholder-engagement skills, with experience partnering with clubs, academies, and regional bodies to expand participation.
