The school is committed to providing a supportive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment where students are encouraged to develop academic competence, critical thinking, communication skills, creativity, independence, and positive character.Monte Sienna implements an international-oriented curriculum and learning approach, including the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Pearson programmes, with an emphasis on student-centered learning, inquiry, collaboration, and the development of transferable skills.As part of the school's continued development of its English language programme, Sekolah Monte Sienna is seeking a Native English Teacher who is passionate about education and committed to helping students become confident, effective, and responsible English users.Position OverviewThe Native English Teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging English language lessons that meet the learning needs, age, and proficiency levels of students. The teacher is expected to create a positive classroom environment where students feel encouraged to communicate, participate, think critically, and use English authentically.The successful candidate will work collaboratively with teachers and school leaders to ensure that English learning is aligned with the school's curriculum, learning standards, assessment practices, and overall educational philosophy.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan, prepare, and deliver engaging English lessons appropriate to students' age, proficiency level, and learning needs.Develop learning activities that promote students' speaking, listening, reading, writing, vocabulary, grammar, and communication skills.Create a student-centered classroom environment that encourages active participation, collaboration, creativity, and confidence in using English.Differentiate instruction and learning activities to accommodate students with different abilities, learning styles, and levels of English proficiency.Use a variety of teaching strategies, resources, technology, and authentic materials to make English learning meaningful and engaging.Integrate inquiry, critical thinking, communication, and real-world contexts into English lessons where appropriate.Prepare appropriate formative and summative assessments to monitor students' progress.Provide timely, constructive, and meaningful feedback to support students' academic and language development.Maintain accurate records of students' learning progress and communicate relevant information with students, parents, and colleagues.Collaborate with homeroom teachers, subject teachers, coordinators, and school leadership in planning and implementing learning programmes.Contribute to curriculum development, lesson planning, assessment design, and other academic initiatives within the school.Participate actively in school meetings, professional development, parent meetings, school events, celebrations, and other school programmes.Support extracurricular activities and contribute to the wider life of the school community.Promote respectful communication, intercultural understanding, inclusion, and positive relationships among students.Actively contribute to a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, flexibility, and a willingness to continuously develop teaching practice.Qualifications & ExperienceEssential:Native or near-native proficiency in English with excellent spoken and written communication skills.Strong English language teaching and classroom management skills.Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with students, colleagues, and parents.Ability to create engaging, well-structured, and student-centered lessons.Ability to adapt teaching strategies to students with different proficiency levels and learning needs.Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.Professional attitude, adaptability, cultural awareness, and commitment to working in an international school environment.Preferred:Bachelor's degree or higher in Education, English, English Language Teaching, Linguistics, or a related field.Recognized teaching qualification or certification such as CELTA, TEFL, TESOL, PGCE, or equivalent.Previous experience teaching English in an international, bilingual, or multicultural school environment.Experience with IB MYP, Cambridge, or other international curricula.Experience in inquiry-based, student-centered, or differentiated learning.Experience working with students across different age groups and English proficiency levels.What We Are Looking ForWe are looking for an educator who is more than simply a fluent English speaker.
