Apply & track with Apply EdgeDirectorate: Children’s Services (Education)Pay Level: 6, £37,711 – £42,307 (Fully inclusive of Local Weighting Allowance)Contract Type: PermanentWorking Hours: 37 hours per week Location: The Curve/ Cross-site Hybrid (minimum 2 days per week in the office) DBS requirement: Enhanced The closing date for applications is midnight on Thursday 24th September 2026Interviews will be held week commencing 12th October 2026What You’ll Be DoingWe are looking to hire an NEET Reduction Youth Officer to support young people aged 16 –19 who are not in education, employment or training.This role will provide high-quality careers information, advice and guidance, manage a caseload of young people, and deliver tailored one-to-one and group interventions to help remove barriers and support sustained positive outcomes.You will develop creative outreach activities to engage those who may be harder to reach, coordinating support, working closely with schools, colleges, employers, training providers and partner agencies, and maintaining accurate records to evidence progress towards positive education, employment and training outcomesApplicants should have experience of supporting vulnerable or hard-to-engage young people, strong partnership working skills, and a good understanding of safeguarding, equal opportunities and the needs of young people who are NEET.Our CouncilOur vision is to make a difference to our communities and environment.
