L1 Network & Security Support Engineer – Taipei, Taiwan 🇹🇼SmartField Tech is looking for an L1 Network & Security Support Engineer for a client-site opportunity in Taipei, Taiwan.📍 LocationNo. 1 Songzhi Rd., Xinyi Dist., Taipei 11047, Taiwan💼 PositionL1 Network & Security Support EngineerWork Model: On-siteLevel: L1Shift/On-Call: May be required based on client requirementsStart Date: ASAP🔧 Key ResponsibilitiesProvide L1 support for enterprise network and firewall environments.Monitor network infrastructure and respond to alerts and incidents.Troubleshoot basic routing, switching, connectivity and firewall issues.Investigate and resolve network/security incident tickets.Perform initial troubleshooting and escalate complex issues to L2/L3 teams.Support Cisco routers, switches and related network infrastructure.Assist with firewall troubleshooting, including connectivity, rules and NAT.Support VPN/IPSec connectivity troubleshooting.Perform basic troubleshooting of F5/load-balancing and network security technologies.Collect logs, diagnostics and packet captures for further analysis.Follow incident, change management and ITIL processes.Execute approved changes under defined procedures.Maintain accurate ticket updates and technical documentation.Coordinate with L2/L3 engineers and vendors when required.Support client on-site requirements and on-call activities when necessary.🛠️ Required Skills2–4+ years of experience in Network, NOC or IT Support.Good understanding of TCP/IP and OSI networking concepts.Basic knowledge of routing: BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, PIM, GRE, VRF.Switching knowledge: VLAN, STP, EtherChannel.Cisco router/switch troubleshooting experience.Basic Cisco Nexus knowledge.Basic firewall troubleshooting experience with technologies such as Check Point, Cisco, FortiGate or Palo Alto.Basic VPN/IPSec troubleshooting.Basic knowledge of F5/load balancers.Basic knowledge of Cisco ISE, Zscaler or NAC technologies is advantageous.Cisco or Aruba wireless troubleshooting knowledge is a plus.Basic Wireshark/packet capture knowledge is preferred.CCNA or equivalent certification preferred.ITIL knowledge/certification is an advantage.🌐 LanguageGood English communication skills – written and spoken.👤 Ideal CandidateWe are looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented engineer who can work effectively in a fast-paced operations environment, follow defined processes, communicate clearly with technical teams, and escalate issues appropriately.📩 Apply / ReferInterested candidates or recruitment partners can share an updated CV, availability, certifications and commercial expectations.SmartField Tech📧 info@smartfieldtech.co.uk📞 +44 7848 483306🌐 smartfieldtech.co.uk#Hiring #NetworkEngineer #NetworkSupport #NOC #NetworkSecurity #ITJobs #TaiwanJobs #TaipeiJobs #Cisco #Firewall #L1Support #SmartFieldTech
