Network and Capability Manager

Are you an experienced clinical supply chain professional with strong expertise in global distribution networks, supplier relationship management and GxP-regulated environments? In this senior role, you will shape and optimize a complex international clinical distribution network, improve operational capabilities and ensure reliable, compliant and cost-effective delivery to clinical trials worldwide.Start Date: ASAPLatest Possible Start Date: 1 January 2027Duration: 12 monthsExtension: Expected extension of another 6 to 12 months, depending on the situationWorkload: 100%Location: KaiseraugstWork Model: Hybrid, three days on-site and two days working from homeTravel: Possible, approximately three to four trips per yearWorking Hours: Standard working hoursTasks & ResponsibilitiesYou are responsible for overseeing and optimizing the distribution network, handling more than 100,000 shipments per year, to enable timely, reliable and efficient delivery for global clinical trials. You partner closely with internal stakeholders in Supply Chain, Procurement and Quality, customers in Clinical Operations, and external partners such as third-party logistics providers and logistics service providers.You contribute to and execute the Network & Capabilities strategy in alignment with the overall distribution strategy. This includes ensuring future network and capability readiness, establishing new locations and maintaining a strong focus on Supplier Relationship Management.You oversee, manage and optimize distribution costs and an annual spend exceeding CHF 50 million.You drive best practices, standardization and optimization of distribution network processes in collaboration with Business Capability Leads and Quality Assurance to ensure supply chain reliability.You co-create and execute objectives for the global Network & Capabilities organization, enabling continuous improvement and supporting the cultural transition toward a self-managed team and organization.You ensure the overall compliance of the distribution network with GxP and GCP standards.Must HavesYou hold a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or MBA in a technical, business or supply chain-related field, or possess equivalent relevant professional experience. Certifications or training in APICS, SCOR, Operational Excellence, Six Sigma or Lean are considered an advantage.You have a strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain management, including warehouse management, transportation management, logistics and regulatory requirements for clinical trials.You bring relevant GxP experience.You possess excellent knowledge of clinical supply chain distribution processes, Supplier Relationship Management, including negotiations and industry best practices, as well as the tools and systems required to enable operational excellence.You act as an architect and catalyst within the distribution organization, take smart risks and streamline or discontinue non-value-adding activities.You demonstrate excellent communication and presentation skills and can simplify complex issues and convey key messages effectively to senior leadership.You have at least six years, ideally more than ten years, of operational experience in supply chain, distribution, planning and/or manufacturing, including significant expertise in clinical supply chain distribution management.What You Can ExpectA strategically important role within a complex global clinical distribution environmentResponsibility for optimizing an international network with significant operational scope and budgetClose collaboration with senior stakeholders, Quality, Procurement, Clinical Operations and external logistics partnersThe opportunity to drive standardization, operational excellence and organizational developmentA hybrid working model with limited international travel
