The role supports enterprise networks, data centers, cloud environments, wireless infrastructure, remote sites, and business-critical communication systems.Key responsibilities include:Designing and implementing LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, SD-WAN, and enterprise network architectures.Configuring and maintaining routers, switches, firewalls, wireless controllers, access points, load balancers, and network appliances.Managing IP addressing, subnetting, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, NAT, routing, switching, and network segmentation.Monitoring network availability, bandwidth, latency, packet loss, utilization, and overall performance.Troubleshooting network outages, connectivity issues, routing problems, DNS failures, wireless problems, and performance degradation.Implementing firewall policies, VPN solutions, access controls, intrusion-prevention measures, and secure network architectures.Supporting cloud and hybrid networking environments across platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud.Managing connectivity between offices, data centers, cloud environments, remote locations, and external networks.Performing network upgrades, migrations, expansions, hardware replacements, and infrastructure improvements.Conducting network capacity planning and recommending improvements based on business and technical requirements.Developing network diagrams, architecture documentation, configuration standards, operating procedures, and technical records.Managing network configurations, firmware upgrades, patches, backups, licenses, and change-control processes.Conducting network assessments, vulnerability reviews, performance analysis, and security evaluations.Supporting network redundancy, disaster recovery, business continuity, and high-availability solutions.Implementing network monitoring, logging, alerting, and automated incident-detection systems.Using scripting, APIs, network automation, Infrastructure as Code, data analytics, and AI-assisted network-management tools where appropriate.Collaborating with cybersecurity, cloud, DevOps, systems, IT support, infrastructure, application, and business teams.Coordinating with internet service providers, telecommunications providers, vendors, and external technical specialists.Managing network incidents, service requests, escalations, and root-cause investigations.Maintaining network asset inventories, configuration records, licenses, support agreements, and technical documentation.Optimizing network performance, reliability, scalability, security, and operational costs.Supporting data-center deployments, office expansions, infrastructure projects, technology upgrades, and digital-transformation initiatives.Ensuring network infrastructure complies with organizational security policies, technical standards, and applicable requirements.Preparing network-performance reports, incident summaries, capacity assessments, risk reports, and technical recommendations.Providing technical guidance and support to network administrators, IT teams, and other technical stakeholders.Continuously improving network reliability, security, automation, scalability, performance, and operational efficiency.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, or a related field.Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, Ethernet, routing, switching, VLANs, subnetting, DNS, DHCP, NAT, VPNs, and network protocols.Knowledge of BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, QoS, SD-WAN, and wireless networking.Strong understanding of routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, wireless infrastructure, and network-management platforms.Knowledge of network-security principles, segmentation, access control, VPN technologies, IDS/IPS, and secure network architecture.Familiarity with cloud networking and hybrid infrastructure.Strong troubleshooting, analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving abilities.Ability to analyze packet captures, network logs, alerts, performance metrics, and connectivity data.Familiarity with Python, scripting, APIs, network automation, Infrastructure as Code, and configuration-management tools is advantageous.Knowledge of network monitoring and observability platforms is beneficial.Familiarity with SDN, SASE, Zero Trust, network virtualization, and modern enterprise-networking technologies is advantageous.Strong documentation, communication, teamwork, and project-coordination skills.Ability to collaborate effectively with cybersecurity, cloud, DevOps, systems, IT support, vendors, and business teams.Relevant certifications such as Cisco CCNA, CCNP, Juniper, Fortinet, Palo Alto Networks, CompTIA Network+, or cloud-networking certifications are advantageous.Strong understanding of network availability, redundancy, disaster recovery, and business continuity.Strong attention to detail, technical judgment, adaptability, and security awareness.High level of professionalism, accountability, and commitment to reliable and secure network operations.
