Network Engineer (Network & Security)SELECTED is partnering with a well-established business in Dubai to hire a Network Engineer for its IT team. This is a hands-on role for an engineer who enjoys owning a network end to end, from infrastructure and wireless through to firewalls and security. You'll be the go-to person for keeping the organisation's network fast, stable and secure.About the roleReporting to the IT Manager, you will manage and improve the organisation's network and security across its offices. You'll handle daily operations and troubleshooting, and you'll also have real input into how the network is secured, documented and developed.Key responsibilitiesInstall, configure and maintain the network: Cisco switches and routers, FortiGate firewalls, Cisco Meraki wireless, VPN and VoIPDesign and manage network security, including segmentation, ACLs, VDOMs, IPS/IDS, NAC, ZTNA and deep inspectionProvide L1 and L2 support for connectivity issues, outages and performance problemsMonitor network health and vulnerabilities using Zoho Site24x7Run routine vulnerability assessments and penetration tests across servers, websites and applicationsInvestigate and resolve security incidents with the CSIRTPatch and update network devices, and keep firmware and configuration backups secureLook after NAS storage and backup solutionsKeep physical and logical network diagrams up to dateWrite and maintain network and information security policies and proceduresSupport external audits with documentation and evidenceWork with ISPs on installations and maintenanceTrain employees on network and security best practiceCarry out planned maintenance outside regular hours when neededWhat you'll bring2 to 4 years' experience in a network engineering role covering both networking and securityCCNA or CCNP (mandatory)Fortinet NSE certification (mandatory)Hands-on experience with Cisco and FortiGate; Cisco Meraki experience is a strong plusA solid understanding of network security principlesExposure to network deployment and upgrade projectsStrong documentation and communication skillsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity or a related fieldCEH, CMNO or CISSP is an advantageFluent English; additional languages are a bonusWhat's on offerA stable, well-regarded organisation in DubaiOwnership of the network and the chance to shape its securityExposure to a modern Cisco, Meraki and Fortinet environmentIf this sounds like you, apply now or message me directly for a confidential conversation.
