Network Technician

Optomi, in partnership with our client, are seeking Network Infrastructure Technicians to support a large-scale infrastructure remediation project.This role is ideal for technicians with experience working in telecommunications rooms (IDF/MDF), structured cabling, rack-and-stack installations, and network infrastructure.The team will assess, remediate, and standardize network closets, ensuring power infrastructure, rack organization, and equipment installations meet established standards.What You'll Do:Inspect telecommunications closets, IDF/MDF rooms, and network racks throughout the campus.Assess rack power, UPS units, PDUs, and APC equipment for proper installation and functionality.Replace aging or improperly installed infrastructure components.Perform rack-and-stack installations and hardware replacements.Organize and remediate structured cabling, improving cable management and rack cleanliness.Verify rack labeling, ID tags, and equipment documentation.Remove obsolete equipment and ensure network closets meet installation standards.Identify and correct power and connectivity issues within network closets.Document completed work and provide updates throughout the project.Follow established safety and healthcare facility procedures while working in production environments.Required Qualifications:2+ years of experience supporting physical network infrastructure.Experience working in IDF/MDF rooms, telecom closets, or data center environments.Hands-on experience with:Structured cabling (Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6A and/or fiber)Rack-and-stack installationsCable management and labelingPatch panels and network racksFamiliarity with UPS systems, PDUs, or APC power equipment.Ability to read basic rack layouts and follow installation standards.Comfortable working on your feet and moving equipment throughout the day.Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.Preferred Qualifications:Healthcare, enterprise campus, or data center experience.Experience performing network closet remediation or infrastructure refresh projects.Knowledge of fiber patching and cable testing.Experience documenting infrastructure changes.Low Voltage, BICSI, or other relevant industry certifications are a plus.
