Riyadh Review of Books aims to bridge cultures, deepen understanding, and celebrate the power of words to connect people across boundaries.Role Description The News Reporter will research, pitch, and write timely news pieces and short features related to Saudi and Arabic literature, publishing trends, and cultural events. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring literary news and events, conducting interviews with authors and industry figures, verifying facts, and drafting clear, engaging articles aligned with the magazine’s editorial standards. The reporter will collaborate with editors to refine story angles, incorporate feedback, and meet agreed deadlines. This is a volunteer role and is fully remote, offering flexibility while contributing to the magazine’s mission of promoting regional literature to a broad readership.Qualifications Strong skills in Reporting and Journalism, with the ability to identify newsworthy stories and gather accurate information.Proficiency in News Writing and Writing, producing clear, engaging, and well-structured articles for online publication.Experience drafting Press Releases or similar public communications, with attention to clarity and tone.Excellent command of written English; familiarity with Saudi and Arabic literature or cultural topics is highly beneficial.Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage multiple assignments, and meet deadlines consistently.Previous experience with magazines, newspapers, blogs, or literary platforms is an advantage but not required.Relevant academic background in journalism, communications, literature, or related fields is preferred but not mandatory.
