Role Summary We are looking for a NOC Engineer to be part of the SRE team, responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and supporting network infrastructure across data centers, cloud connectivity, firewalls, switches, routers, and ISP links. The role will work closely with SRE, Ops, Engineering, and external service providers to ensure high availability, timely incident response, and smooth execution of network changes.Key ResponsibilitiesMonitor and support production network infrastructure as part of the SRE team.Manage and troubleshoot FortiGate firewalls, including firewall policies, NAT, VPN, routing, HA, and access rules.Troubleshoot switches, routers, VLANs, routing, packet drops, latency, jitter, and connectivity issues.Support incident response for network, firewall, MPLS, ILL, VPN, and connectivity issues.Coordinate with ISPs and telecom providers for MPLS, ILL, broadband, and leased-line incidents.Work with SRE, Ops, and Engineering teams during production incidents to identify network-level impact and restore services.Perform packet captures, log analysis, traceroute, ping, telnet/nc, tcpdump, and firewall session debugging.Participate in planned changes, including firewall policy updates, routing changes, link migration, failover testing, and data center activities.Maintain network diagrams, IP address records, firewall rule documentation, inventory, and vendor escalation matrix.Provide RCA inputs, incident summaries, and daily/weekly network health updates.Required SkillsHands-on experience with FortiGate firewall administration and troubleshooting.Strong understanding of LAN/WAN, switching, routing, VLANs, NAT, ACLs, VPNs, and TCP/IP.Experience troubleshooting switches, routers, firewalls, packet loss, latency, jitter, and routing issues.Working knowledge of tools such as ping, traceroute, telnet/nc, tcpdump, packet capture, SNMP, and monitoring dashboards.Ability to coordinate with internal teams and external service providers during incidents.Good documentation, communication, and escalation skills.Comfortable working in a production/SRE environment with shift and on-call expectations.Good To HaveExperience with MPLS, ILL, BGP, OSPF, static routing, and route failover.Exposure to data center and cloud networking.Basic understanding of AWS/Azure networking, VPN, Direct Connect, or ExpressRoute.Experience with monitoring tools such as Zabbix, PRTG, Grafana, CloudWatch, or similar.Fortinet NSE, CCNA, or CCNP certification.Basic understanding of SIP/RTP or voice network troubleshooting.Experience3-7 years of experience in NOC, network operations, firewall support, infrastructure support, or SRE/network operations.Work StyleStrong ownership and troubleshooting mindset.Calm and structured during incidents.Good handover and documentation discipline.Comfortable working with SRE, Ops, Engineering, ISPs, and telecom providers.Willingness to work in shifts/on-call as required.Shift RequirementThis role requires working in rotational shifts, including weekends and holidays, as part of the SRE/NOC operations model. The engineer should be comfortable supporting production incidents, planned changes, and escalations during assigned shift windows.
