Team members join a mission-driven environment that values integrity, respect, and community service.Role Description The Nurse Manager – Birthing Center is a full-time, on-site position located in Gloversville, NY. This role oversees daily operations of the birthing center, including staffing, patient flow, and adherence to clinical and safety standards. The Nurse Manager provides leadership to nursing and support staff, coordinates patient care plans, and collaborates with physicians, midwives, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality maternal and newborn care. Responsibilities include monitoring quality metrics, implementing evidence-based practices, managing budgets and resources, and supporting staff development through coaching, training, and performance evaluations. The role also involves maintaining regulatory compliance, participating in policy and procedure updates, and fostering a positive, family-focused care environment.QualificationsDemonstrated proficiency in Nursing Management, including staff supervision, scheduling, and unit operations.Strong clinical foundation in Nursing and Medicine relevant to maternal, newborn, and family-centered care.Experience with Critical Care Medicine in perinatal or neonatal settings, including emergency response and escalation protocols.Proven ability to deliver safe, compassionate Patient Care, with emphasis on patient education, advocacy, and cultural sensitivity.Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State; BSN required, MSN or related advanced degree preferred.Prior leadership experience in a birthing center, labor and delivery unit, or similar acute care setting.Excellent communication, conflict-resolution, and team-building skills, with the ability to collaborate across disciplines.Knowledge of regulatory standards, quality improvement methods, and electronic health record systems.Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification strongly preferred.Applicants are encouraged to apply on the Nathan Littauer website: www.nlh.org/careers
